It is literally on their list of known issues stickied on this forum
ive also been getting the PC Hard locks. having to full shutdown my pc to continue.

9800x3d + 2080. latest Windows 11 24H2

the only thing that has worked for me so far to prevent the crashing is to disable the engine multithreading.
My current band-aid fix to this is as follows (have not crashed in over 24hours of playtime with this):

Download the program Process Lasso (free version works perfectly fine)

Load up PoE2 and in Process Lasso, right click on PathOfExile.exe
CPU Affinity > Always > Untick last CPU Core
repeat above step again and disable 2nd to last core

Using this I have had no issues since. Still running on Directx12, still using multithreading etc.

This wont fix it for everyone but hopefully it will help some.

Cheers.

Issue of CPU maxing out and overheating/crashing still around after latest .1.0b update. All loading screens,in town cause instant 100% usage. Tried every single option and setting off and on including disabling multi threading changing to dx11 nothing seems to help.

Windows 10 v. 22H2
Intel i7-10700K
RTX 3070

Tried Nvidia update prior to Release and the update that came out on Dec 5th for PoE 2 and both had the same issue. Hopefully this gets resolved soon seems to be fairly large issue for alot of people.

Sadly this doesn't work. Looks like there's literally nothing that works as a band-aid fix or anything like that.

Will just have to wait for GGG to start focusing on this instead of wasting time "balancing" skills..
Same issue with around a dozen hard resets performed so far. I've even had one that was a cold boot, direct to game launch, and as soon as I hit play from character select I completely crashed (usually on the loading gears). Here is some hardware information.

Can anyone confirm whether the bug still occurs in 1.0b? The patch notes claim it's been fixed?
They’ve added it to their priority list, so they’ve seen it, even if a response would have been nice and only taken 10 seconds.

"
High priority issues:

New: Trade site showing players as offline.
Delayed emails for Verification, Unlock Codes, Password resets, etc.
Migration out of Solo-Self Found leagues is temporarily disabled.
Investigating cases where some players experience crashes and have to restart their PCs.
New: Endless loading screens sometimes while in a party.
New: Tinker's Tools quest not explaining that the quest items drop from miners in the area.

Personally, I had "fixed" the issue, but last night's patch brought it back, and it's unplayable again. So I really hope their priority is a real priority.
Game balance can wait; players who paid for an unplayable game cannot.

This might shock you, but its definitely 2 different teams for engine problems and balance.
