Hard crashing PC locks up

"
Today's Windows update do anything? I'm too scared to launch the game.

The windows update was just a security update. The notes go into detail about it.
I've sent GGG my memory dump with info..

There is clearly an issue with a graphics driver or SSD driver and Windows kernel. Windows recently introduced new functionality for drivers on how to handle tasks related to Windows DPC.

A game cannot hard lock your computer without failure in kernel space which the game has absolutely no control of.

Anyone yelling at GGG understands nothing of how an operating system works.

Any program on your computer can cause a BSOD if it's creating a memory leak, a CPU overload, a thermal overload, a voltage shortage or simply a conflict of some sort.

To suggest POE2 can't initiate such a system crash is laughable.
Windows 11 23H2 (Steam), AMD 5800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, 32BG DDR4 3200, Samsung 980 Pro SSD
None of the things you listed is what I have encountered.

You conflate BSOD, crash, memory leak, thermal overheating and processor usage and what I have encountered: A hard lock.

I have already ruled out all the above and more in the hard locks I am experiencing during loading screens.

I read some post of you guys, did you know that there is a thread from Kieren GGG above this thread that they know about the freezing problem and investigating it. wait when they say there is a fix for it. Everyone is spamming all the time about it xD.

and can you tell to everyone why TF it's only happening with PoE 2 and not on way more demanding games, on litarelly other real ALPHA games, on no mmo, even enshrouded antoher early acess game. there's definitly something wrong with the game
I don't have an explanation as to why some games hit this issue while others do not.

GGG appears to be doing something that increases the chances of triggering the issue on the kernel side.

Security updates can contain kernel updates and often these changes are not mentioned in the changelog.
Imma be real the silence on this issue has completely deleted all good-will I had for this company. Over a month and I can't play the game I paid for without risking permanent damage to my hardware, and they have given ZERO update.

It is pretty obvious this is a much larger issue with 24h2 than with previous versions. If reports are to be believed, a pre-patch RTM release of 24h2 crashes far less frequently (or not at all) than a post-patch installation.

Still, if people actually understand what a hard lock/crash is, reports suggest issues with 23H2 and even Windows 10. GGG is obviously doing something in with their engine that is unique to say the least.

The fix could come from a kernel update, kernel driver, bios update, chipset update, microcode update, or GGG patch.
