Hard crashing PC locks up
" This is not how customer protection laws work. If the customer launches the program, and it does not work as intended, then it is on the provider to prove otherwise. In UK and EU the court does not even look at it, they simply order refund and if it is contested by the seller, then that seller will have a really bad day because of an incredible fine flying their way. At least this is how it goes in UK and EU. In USA the only change is that the firm can fight back a little and can deny you further service. But that would be it. They would still lose. From industry standpoint, in everywhere in the world this would be the developer's problem to solve. Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1. What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. Any updates from GGG? weekend is comming:D
Atm game is unplayable, it just got worse and worse so now I cant even launch the game pretty much. And if I do- first enter to map crashes.. |

Temporary Solution:
Either use the Free Version of Process Lasso or write yourself your own script to run at startup that does the following: -> Limit the poe2.exe to X-1 of your logical cores by settings its cpu affinity. You can also manually do this in the taskmanager by rightclicking the exe in the details tab. ProcessLasse will be able to do this change permanently though, TaskManager cant do this. 1. In ProcessLasse just find the .exe while its running. 2. right click it 3. click cpu affinity -> Always -> Select CPU Affinity 4. Uncheck the first two cores (if you have less logical cores than threads which most systems do nowadays) The Game will still freeze but since it wont lock all threads Windows can still schedule Background Processes enabling you to fully controll your PC e.g. closing the Game. " is not a solution, there is already a script that does that , and even if you do it manually, it does work sometimes, and all of the sudden it just stops working, with over 3000 replies this has been posted like 100 times. |

" I am not "moral high-ground over there". I already posted many many times what you can do. Post WER / mdumps / dxdiag.txt to GGG, MS, hardware devs, including CPU / GPU. Collect as much technical data as you can. If the game(s) freeze your PC, refrain from playing it till the problem gets resolved. [Removed by Support] " Because instead of posting technical details, that will help to resolve the issue, [Removed by Support] 1. Post tech details 2. Don't play the game till the problem fixed. 3. Profit [Removed by Support] It's just a videogame. " I know, the problem was bandaided by GGG but NEVER was fixed by the driver / OS / API developers. The time has come to fix that design flaw / vulenrability by the guys from the industry, not just GGG. It's not game-wide issue, it's OS-wide issue, because your entire OS crashes. Well it is a solution for my 24h2 system and many people with similar problems.
People reporting it not working pretty sure just dont make the change permanent. Havent had a single freeze lock (still freezes though) since this change, deactivated process lasso yesterday got freezes again within an hour. Last edited by Gisbert12843#2390 on Jan 9, 2025, 12:51:30 PM

" Well you´re not wrong but you´re missing an important point. Every company cares about their image. You don´t see the huge amount of complaints everywhere as something effective as they are not based on technical evidence, but don´t you google something' s rating before buying? Have you never had a problem with a service and ensured other people were aware of it so they didn´t make the same mistake? What about hotel websites, that are 100% based on customer experience and feedback? Have you ever used Metacritic? I think you´re actually missing the impact that a bunch of unhappy people crying about their frustration has to a company´s image and revenue. And having 365 pages of users saying your product is sh*t surely raises investor´s eyebrows. If you´re a dev you might not care about it, as the company financial´s is "not your problem".. but image is always someone´s problem. Last edited by Jacob_GGG#0000 on Jan 9, 2025, 3:26:24 PM
