Hard crashing PC locks up
This is starting to get embarrassing. No fix and barely any communication. These types of crashes do not seem to be good for my PC. I shouldn't be fiddling with affinity and CPU cores. I shouldn't be changing my POE setting for Engine Multithreading on map change.
Why is there no fix out or at least an announcement they are working on it? |

" This sounds so drastic, but i can't help think the same way.. I can understand not having a fix yet, this could be a major issue they are working hard to resolve rn, but damn, where's the communication they say they have with their community.. It's been 3 weeks since last response. It makes me mad that even if they post "were still investigating the issue" even without any hotfix, would be already a MAJOR POINT for them.. but no, not even that.. how do we know they even care for this | |
i guess our best hope is wait till a major streamer have the same issue, maybe the issue get some more attention after that

" No after I removed Game Bar I have not had a single crash, have played multiple short and long sessions after with no issue |

" Do you both have Game Bar installed (windows 10/11 program) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-problems-with-game-bar-on-windows-74a718a1-2fbf-2ce3-5fbe-e959be352277#ID0EBD=Windows_10 If so please check event config for the following DCOM error "The server Windows.Gaming.GameBar.PresenceServer.Internal.PresenceWriter did not register with DCOM within the required timeout." this issue was brought up on the windows forums https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/recently-my-game-freezes-so-i-checked-event-viewer/8d5bb95e-94ee-487f-9f5b-2c961b591d0f And the solution recomended by Aaron - MSFT in that link is what worked for me. |

" Unfortunatly no, i don't have it installed, i use Windows 10 and got rid of almost all of the windows apps that come with it (the ones i don't use at least, game bar included).. Like i said, just like other people, i tried every single "fix" is out there :\ Im since 26/12 trying to play.. every day i tried a differenyt thing. Tried not using Steam, installed the Standalone launcher, did nothing.. Poe Uncrasher (as administrator) did nothing.. Nvidia new driver hotfix.. did nothing.. Tried every single Affinity sequence for Poe.exe, no luck.. Im currently playing on Directx 11, Engine Multithreading off. it's the only way the game do not crash on EVERY load screen (still crashes sometimes besides all this settings) I appreciate the suggestion, but at this point i think only a patch can fix :'( Last edited by drx#8804 on Jan 3, 2025, 7:41:12 AM

I want to repost my solution to prevent freezes. It might not solve it for you, but at least try this:
1] CPU-affinity: disable two cores. I elect 0 and 1. This prevents your system from completely locking up when a freeze occurs. Do your hardware a favor. 2] Download BES and limit the PoE2 executable from reaching 100% CPU activity. I set my limit to -4% from the maximum. I do not get any freezes on my system with those two steps. YMMW |
