Hard crashing PC locks up

I logged into my high level character and played one map just fine. Then tried to access act 3 and instantly hard crashed. This is so bizarre.
i am also affected.
every now and then my pc freezes up during loading screen.
never happened during gameplay, its always in loading screen.

Win11 (latest patches)
RTX 2080
i9-9900K
The culprit is most definitely Win 11 24H2. Had this happen with several games (twice with PoE 2), and everytime it was when I had just installed the 24H2 update. And when I reroll to 23H2 I never have any issue.

So until Microsoft gets their finger out of their ass and fix this, just roll back the 24H2 update.

Over the past week, I’ve been experiencing crashes 15-20 times a day. My setup is MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi motherboard and G.SKILL Flare X5 Series (AMD EXPO) DDR5 RAM, 32GB (2x16GB), with CL30-38-38-96 running at 6000MT/s and a 7600x.(Windows 11 24h2)

The only non-default setting in my BIOS was enabling the AMD EXPO profile for my RAM. After disabling it, I haven’t experienced any crashes for two days on dx12.Where it was normally impossible for me to not constantly crash on loading screens. Maybe someone else can test this.

I’m experiencing the same issue. Limiting the CPU or disabling shadow rendering didn’t work for me. Yesterday, I couldn’t even launch the game; it kept freezing on the loading screen, and I had to force restart my PC. This has completely ruined my enjoyment of the game. Please fix this!

Crashes or full system freezes?

It's not, plenty of people rolled back or were already on 23H2 and still have the issue. Stop spreading misinformation.

Full system freezes very frequently and exclusively during loading screens. The crashes were even more frequent when using two monitors, and I could barely get the game running on DirectX 12.

I had hard lockups 4-5/hour. Ive tried everything what i could find here and on reddit. IVE ROLLED BACK TO 23H2 AND SINCE THEN NOT EVEN 1 CRASH. And now im playing with 100%cpu, OCed GPU, DX12, everything on full. So plenty of people rolled back and works for them.
All you have to do technically is to change graphic settings before login on your character from DX12 to Vulkan. On top of it you have to set in NVDA control panel Shader cache size to 10 or 100gb and it should work ( maybe you might experience one or two crash before it starts run as intended).
My system:
RTX4090
9800x3D
Win 11 24h2
