Discipline sceptre SAYS you and allies, but I don't seem to be getting the aura yet.
Honestly pretty annoyed that they applied these major changes to the existing servers/realms. No real reason for it. I was going to mess around with my old character but it's absolutely fucked -- whole bunch of passives reset, Morior no longer working so res is screwed, things like that. Could've dealt with the mana changes and whatnot but that's just way too much to spend time "fixing." Would've been easy for them to just leave it be with all the old items and broken builds, but for whatever reason they decided otherwise. Lame.

New character, running feels so slow... I knew it would, but it's frustrating anyway haha. Doing okay though, only three deaths so far :D just have to get used to avoiding things like AoE and environment damage instead of just smashing my way through.

Meanwhile, killed Geonor on the 3rd try (2.5 minute fight) and Hyena boss in 1 try. And that's it for today.

For Act 1 I went for Potent Incantation. Finished Roil ring in early Act 2, now it's time to go for some Crit.

Running with 2 gelid staves atm. 1 was with +2 cold (swapped for spd + crit later from Geonor my dawg), and updating Freezing Shards frequently.

Nova definitely feels stronger, but it's not as good at freezing. Previously, Unleash + Glaciation almost always froze enemies. Now it kills more often than freeze.

Frost Bomb aoe increase is very noticeable.

I probably will stick with gelids until I find a decent wand.
I went very defensive act 1. ES, ES, mana regen. cast speed.

Rattling scepter+focus.



"Convalescence" is pretty fantastic. like an ES flask on 30s cd.
its 30 spirit, can be gained at king of the mists.

can be supported with "persistence" for longer duration.
or with a scepter. "vitality" for 1% life regen, and/or clarity for "increased mana regen".

skills.
flame wall, frost bomb, frostbolt.

bombs aoe increase is notable.. as noted. its to its base aoe size, so will get magnified by increased aoe greatly. mag effect support.

flamewall. bit of added damage to frostbolts, and ignites. helps with cold resistant enemies. targeting can be a Pita, as enemies are just so much faster then the player, even when chilled. drop it on yourself to actually get bolts to proc it..

frostbolt. every time I try freezing shards, I just am not impressed.
frost bolt pierces, has aoe chilled ground, and 100% more chill effect innate.
.8s cast, 13-19 damage=20dps

level 4 shards is 1.2s cast, 5-8 damage, 5 proj. 5.4dps per proj. 100% more freeze buildup.
ok so theres the freeze. and in theory, stacking added fire damage from flame wall is also high dps.

But.. cold snap level 5 gem from executioner. cold snap can be cast on frostbolts, to burn down bosses.

so, I have to go frostbolt/snap, with focus/scepter over stave, and shards.

oh, and dont put scattershot on frostbolt. it was always a major dps loss, only useful late game when shotgunning on walls. (or potentially to cast unleash coldsnap, and have 3 bolts you can proc)
scatter shot was even nerfed with its :less damage: increased from 20, to 35%.

I am running +freeze buildup support on frostbolt.

Could someone explain why you'd get things like lingering horror? I don't see anything in the guide that suggests you do chaos damage at all.

It is for secondary weapon set for increased duration of offering and time freeze.

Meanwhile, I got the Unleash. Unfortunately, it doesn't add seals to a skill that supported by unleash support. However, those seals ain't spend under unleash skill.
So, basically, after using unleash skill, we have 2 casts for 2 seals of skill supported by unleash.

Intended Comet nuke sounds not that good.

Yes. Red - main weapon set, we go for damage.
Green - secondary weapon set, we go for duration.

I cut about 20-25 seconds of the second phase bc of the issue with the recording.

~2 minutes fight. Not that bad, not that good. Probably should put Concentrated Effect instead of Magnified in Frost Bomb.

- Wand (+2 cold and spell damage) for 2 ex.
- Crest of Ardura for 1 ex.
- Level 9 uncut for 1 ex - Frost Wall.
- Level 2 uncut support for Spell Echo for 1 ex.

Frost Bomb: Spell Echo - Magnified.
Frost Wall: Spell Cascade - Deep Freeze.
Hypothermia: Persistence - Heightened Curse.
Ice Nova: Unleash - Glaciation.

I stopped using Freezing Shards after I got the shield.

No comments on Unleash. Was just a bit helpful during lvl 23-28.

I'm in awe of how bad freeze build-up is atm, w/o any investment besides Path of Winter node.

Un, I was kind of okay until lvl 22-25. I entered Burial Shrines at lvl 22 and finished it at lvl 25. Spent more than hour. I guess, time to sit few days and wait for new imbalanced builds. Because Chronomancer didn't become any better in any aspect. It's complete trash, let's be honest. Cold skills worked best of all elements. Still shit compared to what I see on gas arrow classes. Nice gamedesign though. Previous league it was Stormweaver/Invoker/Deadeye, this league it will be amazon/deadeye/pathfinder. Tasty.
