Most appreciated but least played role?

There's no roles, this isn't an MMO

Kinda sorta, don't people run aura bots and curse bots, I mean it's not the usual MMO fair but there still is some support gameplay.

Yes definitely, the party size is 6 maximum.

Each additional person in the party increases the mobs HP, so yes people want you to be able to do damage.

The MTX can work on any class, but you can only equip the sword MTX on swords etc. (Note that swords are not yet dropping in POE2 though, but they will be available later. They haven't said when but it would be before full release which is estimated at min 6 months)
ehhh, wait, so are we only getting clubs, quarterstaff, then? I was kinda looking forward to seeing what swords will have, damn... I gotta rethink what I'm going to do then...
maybe there will be aura/curse/warcry bots again, but currently i don't think so?
other than that, just play what you like.

I am going to join PoE 2 and never played first game. I played a lot of other games. So i do have a question.

In other games i often struggle to choose a class and mostly pick whatever is generaly appreciated but not many people play it. For example, nobody liked to play tanks/priests in one MMO i played so i played it an had fun. And it was easier to make friends.

Is that at all present in PoE? Which classes can be compared? Or at least i would like to avoid something that most people play. As of right now, without knowing anything about the game i like how the druid looks.

No one will appreciate you.

HOWEVER, YOU CAN BE HATED

Some people do not like other people running specific builds, to the point that they will REMOVE YOU from the party.

Those are usually (but not always) related to Minions, high amount of projectiles, high count of visual effects triggered per second, etc.

(To be honest, I support and understand those guys, because if you get few people with those builds, it really becomes a travesty of gameplay and visual experience)

So, if you plan to "mostly" play in party, you HAVE TO check what other people will not be ok with.

Do not get me the wrong way. People here a nice. Most people will allow you to join their "NO MINIONS" party with necromancer, as long as you unsummon them. But again - what will be the point then...
