Most appreciated but least played role?

I am going to join PoE 2 and never played first game. I played a lot of other games. So i do have a question.

In other games i often struggle to choose a class and mostly pick whatever is generaly appreciated but not many people play it. For example, nobody liked to play tanks/priests in one MMO i played so i played it an had fun. And it was easier to make friends.

Is that at all present in PoE? Which classes can be compared? Or at least i would like to avoid something that most people play. As of right now, without knowing anything about the game i like how the druid looks.

Its not an MMO so there are less importance of 'roles'.

Your class choice has more to do with what kind of playstlye you want. Also druid is not available immediately in Early Access, they are still working on him. We have 6/12 classes to choose from initially.
No, something like that does not exist.

PoE is mostly single player with very little but always optional group play. You can technical build a support character that buffs other players with auras but we don't know yet how viable that would be at the start of early access as we have very little information still.

The best thing you could do/provide for a group is having enough damage to carry simply others.

Well, for sure i understand that its not gonna be like MMO. But you can still enjoy the game with a party of friends? That would be enough.

Sad that the druid is not availible. What would you say is the most fun and flashy class to start? Was there THE Tank in original game?

I got that $60 one and there is a skin/armor and a sword. Are those for a specific class or can be worn by anyone?
Yes definitely, the party size is 6 maximum.

Each additional person in the party increases the mobs HP, so yes people want you to be able to do damage.

The MTX can work on any class, but you can only equip the sword MTX on swords etc. (Note that swords are not yet dropping in POE2 though, but they will be available later. They haven't said when but it would be before full release which is estimated at min 6 months)

Thank you! Can't wait to play it :)
class really doesn't matter much it's the skills/nodes you pick. There's no holy trinity like you'd find in an mmo there's aren't even really heal skills, it's situational things based on things you do and regeneration. Taunting is really only used for the debuff it applies to enemies not to force attacking on a certain person. I dont think there's anyway to heal other ppl anyway. There will be buff/debuff bot builds that would help in groups but you wouldn't be able to kill things yourself really. For the most part all builds are made to be standalone. If you're always going to be playing with the same group you could space out who gives what buffs but that will be way more complicated. Building 1 char is hard enough creating a group comp without overlapping and complimenting skills would be infinitely harder than creating 5 builds. Each persons goal should be to do enough dmg to kill something before it kills you. How each go about that will differ, glass cannon probably wont be viable for a while until more of the game is understood. Heavy on defenses will probably be alot of ppl go to to begin with no mater if it's ranged or melee.

acording to a recent intrview with JJonathan you will be able to do much more than damage to benefit your party. there wont be aura bots since it was too idle so they came up with somehitng i assume will be debuffs on hit.

OP i figure if you want to be helpful you can spec into somehitng like this- altho i am not sure what class will have this ability but one mentioned was 'armour breaking' whihc will significantly reduce defenses of monsters and i think somehtign like that will be closer to what you are after.

Sounds great! I will check it out. But i do understand that PoE 2 will be quite different in some ways so we don't know anything untill we actually start playing. See you in game )
There's no roles, this isn't an MMO
