I know they tell people to not feed the bears, but I think I've made a new friend.

It's a black bear, it's small, but not a cub, I'm guessing it's an adolescent. It literally rolled on its back and let me rub its belly, it's a friendly bear, and it LOVES hot dogs. The biggest I've seen black bears get around here is comparable to the size of a large breed dog, and they're usually very skittish around humans.

But this one walked right up on my deck when I was grilling out some hotdogs and hamburgers, and I tossed him (it is a he) a hotdog and he just chilled on my deck for a bit. He let me pet him on the head, and rub him on the belly like a dog.

I bought a bag of dog food, just to see if he'd eat it and he does, so I put a bowl out for him and feed him. My motto is don't feed the bear? I don't care. Bears are awesome.

Just make sure you don't run afoul of that other breed of bear, the Smokey. They wield the power of the fish and wildlife department, and have been known to confiscate squirrels and raccoons who got too friendly with humans. They might also take a bite outta your wallet for not complying. ='[.]'=

The little fucker is a picky eater too, I had a ham bone with some meat on it leftover from thanksgiving and he smelled it and turned away from it.

Other bears have the fur to protect from that. Human.. not so lucky.

The only time I'd be at risk of getting bit is if I tried to hand feed him. He has pawed at me a little bit, but his claws are not that sharp.

I heated up some chili, I had a bunch leftover, so I fed some to the bear, and the bear ate it right up! Me and a bear enjoyed a bowl of chili together!

If I was to get a webcam and record this shit, people would go nuts, it would go bigtime viral. However, the government's gangters would show up to murder this harmless animal for no reason other than "because we said so". I hate people, I really do.

In Russia, you can keep bears as pets. And that bear makes my buddy look like a little teddy bear.

You probably shouldnt eat it either. Bear knew that this meat was "wrong".

Just be carefull. Build your relationship but take care of yourself.
