There is no solution. You can't upgrade because you don't own a supporter pack. You get the invite to EA with the key you received but no supporter pack.
If you buy one pack, you can upgrade them.

That's a dumb question, the redemption of a key dose not equal buying it, you will pay the full price unless YOU have bought the pack on your account.

This is not true, i bought the supporter pack and have no option to upgrade.
