Poe 2,coop friendly one day ?

Hello, I'm posting my message here because after looking around for information about the co-op mode in PoE2, I saw that it will basically resemble the co-op mode in PoE1: increased difficulty, loot still not personal, and I assume the drop rates haven’t changed either.

I find it really unfortunate that nothing has been done to encourage players to play together.

In PoE1, it was very frustrating. The game boils down to stats: either you meet the cap or you don’t for a specific type of damage, and that’s it. If you were on T13 maps in the Atlas while playing solo, switching to co-op made the difficulty spike so much that you had to downgrade to lower-tier maps to avoid dying every two steps. As a result, you’d get less interesting loot, which didn’t help you progress in the game, all for a barely increased loot rate—more difficulty for the same or even worse rewards.

On top of that, PoE1’s economy made loot sharing impossible to do fairly, especially when very rare items dropped, knowing there was a high chance of never seeing that item again. This just made people want to... play solo, because doing a map, trading, doing a map, trading, constantly agreeing on loot and currency sharing—it gets tiresome after a while.

Sure, PoE is meant to be more hardcore and to cater to fans, etc., which I can understand. But here, there’s zero fun. The only people I saw playing together were either doing PL (power leveling) or acting as aura bots. What fun is that?

Will it really stay like this for PoE2?
I’m open to all perspectives, but there’s no need to be hateful. I can understand that some prefer to play solo and don’t want the economy to change, etc. But you also need to understand that some people just want to have fun with friends without it becoming a chore—because in co-op, there’s less loot, and we don’t know how to share it since we don’t have the prices on the spot, don’t know if it will sell, etc. Sorry, but it’s really a pain. (And please don’t talk to me about the round-robin loot system; it was completely broken.)

Thanks!

even GGG said they expect problems on launch day wich is understandable i doubt its gonna be playable for the first several hours
Actually while I was skeptical at first the more they showed the more I see that they did make some strides towards the game being more co-op friendly.

You can resurrect a fallen ally

Aura bots isn't going to be a thing that blocks you from doing other things since mana reservation isn't a thing anymore.

status effects like frozen is built up rather then just a proc chance so anyone can contribute.

This is just some things I noticed from videos around.
From the footage I've seen, at least on damage, it seems to be easier in co-op now. Like some bosses just melt in co-op (they might fix that though).

I don't trade, nor do I like trade, so I have no opinion on that.

I completely agree with you. I have currently 116 hrs on POE2 and the whole time, I've been playing catch up to my family who both blow through content really fast. I missed a few days due to work and came back to them being a bunch of lvls ahead and well into mapping. By the time I started mapping they were map lvl 12. Neither of them wanted to help me catch up on maps because of how ridiculous the mapping system is. So if you don't know... I'll explain. If you run a map with your friends, maps only drop for the person who submits their map into the map room to start it. The amount of loot doesn't change (you CAN change your loot requirements to permanent loot which makes it so that you can't steal each others loot on accident). The mobs get significantly harder as you add more people and when one of you dies, expect to wipe the map. Also, when you die, you lose your map AND 2 full bubbles of xp every time until you get down to no xp on your current level. There is ZERO incentive to play with your friends, so the fact that this game is even advertised as multiplayer is bs. It's a single player game that you can interact with other people on. But the game punishes you so bad by playing with your friends, that it's just not worth it. Which sucks because I would have never bought the game had I known I was playing through it solo. I buy multiplayer games to play with my friends/family. If they don't fix this. I'm done playing and I will go back to diablo where it's actually multiplayer friendly.
