Feels like a scumbag moment from GGG
So a Free game is going to get sold for $30. Probably sell 1 million+ copies just for the EA and this will basically just be the game release and they will rake in the dough as if it a paid game This reeks of scumbaggery.
Game: is free Company: makes millions selling copies of the game for $30 GGG: ;) Last edited by Fraktal_#5973 on Nov 24, 2024, 7:14:14 PM Last bumped on Dec 3, 2024, 7:46:21 PM

do you think theres something immoral about getting paid to work full time?
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

They charged for the EA of POE1.
Nothing changed. They were upfront about it from the start. |

We live in capitalism my friend. Thankfully they‘re not as unhinged as other companies, 30 is fine.

I mean.. alternative is giving out x amount of access keys randomly to have some sort of control on what server infrastructure they need to prepare. With random keys there is no way to tell how many will actually test it. The entry fee at least gives an extra incentive to spend some time to try it out.
The game needs to be tested. Nothing carries over to release. Testing costs a LOT of money. Other games would get that money from preorders but this is a free game on release. There is no way to have a long and good testing period (with enough people) without it coming at a huge cost for the company. You also get points with "equal value" of the cost. Whatever that means to you. If it doesn't mean anything to you then just wait for the release and play for free. Last edited by arknath#4740 on Nov 24, 2024, 6:44:01 PM

Again, noone is forcing you to pay.
You can play the game for free after the full release. |

yeah but gamers do not care about early access title or anything like that, they see the game being released, they want it like hungry dogs. GGG is just charging $30 and taking advantage of people because they can get away with it and will make the money as if this is a paid release of a game when its NOT. Having their cake and eating it too at our expense.

" Yeah Imagine the fallout if they gave out randoms and all the people who wanted to play never got a key. Selling keys is a good way to know how much Server infrastructure they need, and fund that infrastructure. And being fair for all, equal entry. " If those people can't wait thats not the dev's issue lol They're not taking advantage of anyone, they're making sure that people actually play the game and test it properly. |

so you are gonna complain for needing to spend 30$ for a game where is far more content than triple AAA games who cost 70$ AND you get all your 30$ spent back in MTX and on top of the key i guess you rather pay 100$ for base game and 40$ for expansion like diablo 4 with still almost no endgame content to do you are INSANE
