Damage numbers in POE 2
i was trying to reply to the other guy , not you about moding the files .
this is why POE 2 will have the same player base as poe 1 , and everyone else will fall off , like it has always been POE elitist gatekeepers . |
|
POE players man , thank god this can be played like a single player game .
instead of saying something normal like " i personally would not like damage numbers all over my screen " or " i dont need that but more options is always good" no , you go off saying it will never happen , it can never happen . like its the law , the rule , like its set in stone . i am not gonna reply to my own topic anymore , i am mad and angry after a minute on this forum , for my own good , bye . |

" I think, you post in the wrong sub-forum. If you want add suggestion, there is another sub-forum for this: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-forum/feedback You could use function search too, you are not first one asking for it. On Probation Any%

Thank goodness we're not having damage numbers in this game. Imagine the visual clutter just to see inflating, always growing digits. Ugh.

I cant remember which interview(so many at this point) but Jonathan said he doesnt like damage numbers all over the screen as it ruins immersion etc. They then saw how Elden Ring did them and so thats why we have them on the boss bar now.
GGG (thanfully) hold true to most of their core values so you definitely wont be getting what you are asking for here. |

No, because it would be unintelligible spam, you can get away with it in other games that are much slower but even those get to the point where you can barely even read what is going on, transfer that into a game that allows you to hit far more things and far more frequently it ends up being screen clutter, that will hide important things like telegraphs, fire on the ground etc

" It's based on implementation. But I agree GGG's software engineers and their seniors are something mediocre. We can see it on how they merged data bases. So I assume if they will implement damage log it will be very-very bad / spammy / buggy / glitchy / performance consuming / whatever. |

I really dont understand why GGG doesn't wanna implement damage numbers and feedback on death.
All the people that are defending them for that, i don't understand you either. Players shouldn't have to litterally devote their life to the game to have some vague understanding about how their damage will scale. We're talking about an ARPG where the whole point is to measure gear and upgrade efficiency, i will just never understand nor accept the idea that all feedback numbers must be obfuscated. And putting that on the side of "clutter / bugginess / hardness to compute" or whatever BS is just ignorance + incompetence |

"Can you merge such massive databases on a live service product? Between multiple platforms? Hmmm? Last edited by Ulsarek#7159 on Nov 23, 2024, 3:56:08 PM
