Blood Mage in PoE 2 ???

Blood Mage in PoE 2 or better the Sanguimancy Node must be a joke right ?......
every single Ascendancy get buffs with the first 2 Nodes that helps you progress faster.... but Blood Mages gives you an Debuff and you have to take it ? GGG please give her an Buff like added # spell damage to i dont know 50-100% the life cost from casts or 30% more damage or +2 Ascendancy points or anything that this Node will be a Buff and not a Debuff

EDIT: Life Remnants only works on kill so it is a bad compensation... vs Boss fights it sucks
so even if you want to play this Ascendancy (and i want to test it ), it is just better to take the other and reskill after you have all points or what ? GGG please you are joking right ? right ?

I was thinking about the same thing, i even rewatched the video multiple times but it really seems like you don't get increased damage out of it, but maybe we're missing some important context or something like that
They really should do something about it I don't see why I'd take that over the other options.

Give the life remnant on kill and give it a % when hitting unique, if it happen to be broken you can just add a line that remove the second part on all other passive so at least you don't nerf yourself in the first ascendancy
Why am I still here
New info from an interview.

The Life Remnant Skill (The Blood Orbs) allows you to overcap your life. Sounds nice - But its likely only the heal from the remnant that overcaps so...
Double life pool combined with spell leech for life + damage based on life sounds pretty op :) Blood Mage sounds great. Sure it might not be the strongest first points but game isn't about balance at all stages xD

I assume respeccing is also fairly easy so You don't have to start as blood mage or you could wait until you can grab the leech node.

Nobody was talking about the Endgame ?! He didnt said it in the video.... Double life + damage based on maximum life sound OP for you ? yeah for me too and you still dont get it that there is a very high chance that you dont get it for Bosses and i dont care about a good maper that sux at Bosses.

But hey... i was talking about the first Node that totally sux.

!!! Balancing an game also doesnt mean only for the Endgame.... !!!

Thats the first Class ever made that hurt your early progress and there is no reason why it should...
They can easily balance it

And also you dont know if its OP in Endgame and there will still be balancing after launch...but you can clearly see that the First Trail hurts you and dont benefit you at all... because of that you have to go on life reg or leech early to compensate your life costs and that could be any defense points or damage points you would normaly spend + if you die vs Bosses you have to restart the fight

And you still wanna tell me its ok ? ok, do it on Hardcore Solo Self Found and show me pls...
There isnt only Softcore

Edit:
Call me ...idk.... but i think there shouldnt be an Class that you will avoid in Hardcore early because you not only gain nothing... it also makes it even harder when you easily could balance it

You cant change the Ascendancy.
Atleast in EA.

So if you want to play Blood Mage you have to live with it.

That sounds bad to me because if you dont like your Ascendancy you have to play trough the Campain again to "change" only the Ascendancy.

So guys choose wisely.

you dont have to allocate the passives until you have more points,if they seem only negative to you.

or

you can do the first 2 points when you are rdy to do the 3rd and 4th point

sure you dont get a power boost that other classes might get,but its not really a big deal

ofc i know that i dont need to allocate them and can wait but that shouldnt be the solution.

and it is an big deal if you have to sacrifice life every time you attack in boss fights and have no positive outcome of it.... because you have no other option to choose.

how does this node give you an advantage and a reason to pick it if there would be other options?
in hardcore its even worse.

if your skill cost 15 mana it cost you 15 life and with 3 cast per second it means you drain your self 45 life per second so you have to compensate it with life reg/leech or in boss fights you are fucked.
or with 100 cast in an boss fight you would sacrifice 1500 life for what reason ?

and for the compensation you must invest points on the passive tree or life reg affix on equip or both.
and what do you get after that ? still nothing... the only thing it gives you are life remnants on kill, so vs normal monster it benefits you alot yes thats right. with double life your survivability is huge... still its only on normal mops... vs bosses without minions still no benefits at all

and in boss fights you cant build up life with "life remnants" if there isnt anything to kill so zero benefits for you. so tell me if you had an other option why should you take this node ?

and still they could fix that problem if they just would balance this node

they could fix it with "if you have killed recently" or anything else or just a little buff that you get something for your life you sacrifice....
While it is okay to voice your concern, I do think it is a bit premature to worry about such things. After all, we don't yet know how this ascendancy notable will interact with everything else in the game. For example, I don't know if it has been shown yet or not, but the Sacrifice Support gem could be in the game and reworked as such that it benefits greatly from the extra life spent on your supported skill. Or there could be other support skills that will gel with the whole Bloodmage archetype. Or even other skills, notables, etc...

Just a tad too early to tell, imo.
