Unskipable Dialogue in Game/MMORPG's

No dialogue skip is a point against, but not a dealbreaker for me

I mean... back in the early 2ks that was the rule. One particular example was FF10. Dialogues could be hastened if you mashed X, but cutscenes were unskippable. I didnt mind at all since the story was great, but there was one particular instance on that game that not being able to skip the cuts was super painful: Yunalesca fight, if you messed up and died, you had to suffer a 10-ish minutes cutscene to try again

That being said, no skip option is only tolerated for me on the first playtro, long and unskippable cutscenes for me equals no replay value, unless the gameplay is really exceptional. THAT being said, i cant recall that many games with long unskippable cutscenes, most games i played were either skippable or split into short cutscens

Most frustrating than unskippable long scenes are long cutscenes with scripted events: Cutscenes that not only cant be skipped, but at some point demands imputs, god THOSE are the worst, cant even take a piss or alt-tab the damn scene, those actually forces me to stay, watch and pay attention, fuck that shit! Good thing the gaming industry realized what a garbage mechanic that is
I've grown tired of lengthy dialogue and cutscenes in games, 90% of the time the writing is shit and the stories are uninteresting. If I watch them, 90% of the time it'll be time in my life that I wish I could take back, so I give a blanket vote of no confidence to dialogue & cutscenes anymore.

Ghosts of Tsushima on steam, literally refunded that shit because I couldn't skip cutscenes. The game literally made me mad enough to punch a wall over all the little bullshit interruptions with random villagers wanting to talk about stuff I don't care about - just let me get back to exploring and fighting stuff, you know, actually playing the game. Fuck Sucker Punch.
