Loot Filter Problem

Hello,

I've been doing POE filters for a while now. A while back on PS4 and then I moved to PC and did the same.

I've loaded up POE on my new PS5 but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get a filter to work. Preloaded filters work fine, but I want to fine tune them. Regardless of what I've tried, I can't get any of them to work. I tried following a few other filters but that didn't do anything different.

Currently, unless I am using a filter that comes with the client, I get every single item dropped showing on my screen.

Any help is appreciated. At this point, I'm looking at probably deleting and reinstalling, but I'm hoping someone has a work around.

Thanks and have a good one.

It's possible that you have the "local storage bug". If you do, then no custom filter will work until you reinstall the game.

However, if your custom filters *never* worked on the new PS5 client, there's probably a different problem.

Unfortunately, the account-based "following" of a filter still doesn't work for console AFAIK.

Did you try making your own filter with Filterblade? (Or copying someone else's filterblade filter to your account?)

Thanks for that.

Yes, I made my own filters, trying different methods, even adding and removing modules thinking some sounds were hanging things up.

I deleted and downloading the game again. Hopefully that fixes it.

Have a good one.

FYI, as far as I know, there is no way to use custom sounds on console.

This is a fact. I messed around with some of the sounds and it immediately broke everything.

Started the game up this morning after a reload and filters are working fine as built from filterblade.

Have a good one.

Not sure if it's considered custom, but I use "shaper sounds" with my filter on PS4/5 and it works

If you mean "Shaper voice lines", where The Shaper says the names of things, like "Chaos Orb", those are actually built in.

Custom sounds (on PC) let you use any sounds you want for your filter. If you hop around Twitch watching people play PoE you'll hear all sorts of different sounds... 8-bit gaming sounds, girls moaning, famous voice clips from streamers, etc.

I don't really care that we can't do custom sounds on console, but it would be nice if we had a *slightly* larger variety available. After all, they keep adding new stuff to the game.
the thing I have is called "Currency Shaper Sounds". Regardless I consider everything off of the filterblade site (i.e. not ingame) as custom

The old ps4 client filters work, but the new filtreblade or filter modifications do not work in the PS5 client. Does reinstalling the game fix it?

I've been using custom filters on the PS5 version for some time.

2 bugs to be aware of:

1) If you use a custom filter, the game will *always* load up with the "default" filter selected (aka no filter). You just need to go into the menu, wait 1 sec for it to load up the custom filter, and select it.

2) If you encounter the local storage bug (which can "brick" filters and/or cause your minimap fog to reset every time you reenter a zone) then you can repair by either reinstalling the game (super annoying), or by simply following these steps:

(EDIT: "bricked" filters means you have your custom filter selected, but it shows all loot as if you were not using a filter at all.)

Fully close Path of Exile.

Launch some other game (not D4... there are a few reports of specific games not working for this, but most "simple" games do).

Fully close that game.

Launch PoE again.

I don't remember who discovered this method, but it has been working great for me.

AFAIK all reports of this method are for the PS5 native client... but it might work on PS4 as well. I haven't tried it.
