PSA: There is a cap on forum badges displayed

They could already fix the wall of "void" issue by extending the post_info_content part even further to the right. Even a 1080p could easily fit more than 6 badge icons in a single column and it would all still be very centered while cutting down the length of the "void" wall.

sounds like a great suggestion for more badges to be displayed!

I honestly wish the limit was MUCH smaller, scrolling through posts is a pain if even one high badge poster is frequent, and it's often more than that.

Or just a rethinking of the layouts, or like, an exploding menu when you mouse over to reduce the space eaten. Just something simple like making them horizontal under the signature would go a long way to reducing the MASSIVE lost space per post.

That or capping the post count by the size of the post, so it'd just add enough badges as to not expand the length of the post for no reason, or a user end limit (i.e I could set it so I only ever see the first four badges, but someone else could choose to see the first hundred).

oof. Not a fan of these ideas, but thank you for weighing in :)

I hope GGG will give an instant beta access to the OP x)

Thank you :) you're very kind. I did have day 1 beta access the last few rounds.

As someone who also has a metric ton of supporter badges, I'm glad there's a hard limit even on the icons. I don't want to see someone take an entire page so they can show off their terrible spending habits.

I am asking for a feature which was sold to me so I have no idea why your irrelevant moral judgement should matter? :)

PS: I also dont understand why support keep forcibly move my thread from General Discussion to here. It was moved back to General Discussion after they failed to explain why and now it's back again without explanation. Can someone explain why?
It will convert your forum titles into decorative square badges that use the space next to your forum posts more economically so that you can show off an unlimited number of them at any one time. - GGG, 2018 (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3573673)

i hate that these badges are even a thing. they distract me from what is important on a forum (post content) while screaming at me things i do not care about

luckily if you are good with adblock-like tool you can just hide them and collapse the space they take. the issue with that is that the forum looks like twitter thread - full of oneliners but oh well
I wonder if these badges will be displayed on the PoE 2 forum .
This should me like military Medal ribbon.

They need to just update this website and the forum system.

It was out of date when it came out. Have you seen this page on 21:9 or 32:9? It's just a mass of empty space. There's no live reply notification. There's no live user responding in topics.

It took them years to start uploading videos in higher quality and the desktop wallpapers they've given out were 800x600. With OLED coming online no one is going to use static wallpaper anyways.

I'm pretty sure they would have "learnt their lesson" from the POE 1 forums and not do the same for POE 2. But I wonder if these forum badges are still going to be a thing in POE 2 supporter packs.

The current badges are basically the ribbons for the original supporter tags though! Do they need a further trimmed down version? Perhaps...

Let's see what the forum structure would be like in the community space in POE 2 website...

I like how you arranged your badges by colour. I only display the most important ones as I find the sheer number disruptive, but there's an appeal to your setup as well

Yes we all need new trimmed version.

Hallelujah! You have my vote!

The forum software absolutely needs an upgrade. Give me the ability to show my appreciation for someone's post with a like button rather than having to quote it would be a nice start.

I'd also like an ignore feature so I can bypass some users. That would probably go a long way to improving some of the conversations around here. I'm certain there's people here that would want to ignore me and I certainly don't begrudge them that :)

As for the topic de jour, set the viewable badges to a maximum of 8 but cue as many as you want and they can just endlessly scroll - everyone wins!
64 badges is 2 by the power of 6

I could imagine GGG never expected people to have more than that as supporter packs.

I hope they will keep it at that. Its already annoying, that badge display is sometimes way longer than comments.
