game keep crashing in maps multiple times, mostly after game start, but not only then

I HAVE FIXED IT!

Might work for you, but the fix was my bios.

About 6 days or so ago, I found that POE was crashing during the loading screen (75% into it the swirl would stutter, then the game would end). I was baffled and I work in IT repair. I went through many things from SFC & Dism to windows checks. I uninstalled POE - no change. I uninstalled steam - no change!!!

THE FIX WAS UPDATING THE BIOS. I have PRO Z790-P WIFI motherboard (i bought a stock ibuypower computer to game on that's cheap and works well)

I heard there was a bug so I figured it out. What you'll need to fix this if you want to try is a USB removable drive (like 100mb something very small is fine) and a restart of your computer. ChatGPT works great too.

On the desktop background, hold the windows button + R will open the Run command. Type msinfo32 and press okay to view your system info. BaseBoard Product will be the motherboard. Once you know what this is, google it to go to the manufacturers website and download the newest version. download it into the downloads folder and unzip it on the USB drive. Make sure the drive has nothing on it (I formatted my USB drive). Then once this was done, I restarted my computer and tapped DEL key repeatedly to launch bios setting. Mflash allows you to load bios and you can select the USB device with it on it. Once this is done, my game stopped crashing and runs colder now too. I suspect there is some sort of heat related issue that was causing this, but I have no idea, just for the past 24 hours I have not had any more issues and I am so freaking happy!

(Youtube is a good tool for any of these steps. i'll check this forum throughout the day to answer any more questions. This was so aggrivating to me that I just want to help.

wow my friend you are awesome, there was indeed a bios update from about 3 weeks ago.
i updated it and i have successfully logged in, went to my hideout AND already run 4 maps WITHOUT ANY CRASH.

i just hope it stay this way, you realy saved the game for me, i was about to deinstall but thought i give the thread a last look. tbh i did not expect bios update will do anything because until before last weekend everthing was (almost) fine.

yes it seems to work, still can't believe that was the problem but i have run more than 20 maps now and still not a single crash!

just to be clear it is still not solved!

today at gamestart i had again way more than 10 crashes, again on the loading screen before entering a town, loading screen to enter hideout and the first map i was able to enter for a few seconds before it crashed and then all portals also crashed on entering loading screen.

one day later...
the crashes are still not solved

well another 4 days later...
tbh i don't know what to do anymore,
reporting a bug seems to do nothing, ggg is not even reacting or anything.

it still is not better, you get crashed once and you get crashed multiple times and loose all portals, especially at game start.

you can set the settings to an absolute potato and still have the exact same effect, not a single setting change anything.

i getting sick of posting here over and over again without any reaction.

I JUST HOPE EVERYBODY WILL GET THIS BUG SO GGG HAVE TO DO SMTH ABOUT IT
but lets be honest, i think they will just continue to ignore this problem anyway.
