From what we've seen so far, do you feel you're going to stay with PoE1 or move to PoE2?

Hi there,
Please note the Path of Exile forums are intended for civil discussions. Further ad hominem attacks and needlessly negative discussion may result in this thread being locked. | |
" Fortunately it's not a forum-wide sentiment but only a few select stragglers who just happen to be very loud about it. Since they don't have strong arguments in their favor they have to relent to ad hominem. I sleep easy knowing that none of that matters. :) On the topic of staggered releases though: as someone working "above warehouse level" I hope that it's not part of a plan for higher workforce utilization which would be to the detriment of the developers. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

This is a very strange way to go about just saying I don't believe them :p
I'd guess that they would stagger the releases but I also think its complicated, its complicated from a development perspective its also complicated from a personal investment perspective. I think their existing model has brought them a world of success, double releases staggered or not is not actually their existing model - will it cause burnout/washout, will players get overwhelmed? I have the answer to none of this but i'm interested to see what they go for. I know one thing only which is I can't play new league every 2 months I'd just burn out. I'm also their worst supporter so its probably to their benefit if they burn me out ;p Last edited by Draegnarrr#2823 on Sep 13, 2024, 3:23:06 PM

" You know, I think you're right....I might be wrong on this. The developers and advertisements and interviews are all just 100% bogus. In fact, there is no actual PoE 2 coming, PoE 1 will close the second PoE 2 is released, and it will be revealed that Grinding Gear Games never actually existed. It's just the matrix. At least that's what my "above the warehouse" unique common sense tells me. Every manager knows that straight up lies are the way to go. Also...."You are obviously wrong", when it was a quote from devs and NOT me. But sure I guess I could be wrong using none of my own words. Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Sep 13, 2024, 4:27:35 PM

" Yea they are lying! Obviously they will close poe 1 the second poe 2 is released! In case someone doesn't get in it, its sarcasm. The only reason they would have to stop updating or even closing poe 1 is if it stopped making money. Which guess what every company would do. GGG aren't our friend. Why am I still here

PoE2 just looks so slow , tedious and uninviting to me .

" Heh, it has nothing to do with conspiracy theories or madness, but just a healthy dose of skepticism. Are they going to support PoE 1 alongside PoE 2? Of course they are. But for how long, and how low do the numbers need to get before they pull the plug? And how well will PoE 1 be supported? Will it get new character kits? New animations? You know, something they kind of 'promised' when they first announced PoE 2? I only bring it up to remind you that no matter what GGG are saying, things CAN change. Plans CAN change. So it's not about lying either. Yes, they say that mapping will be fast. But where is the line between truth and PR here? How fast? And if they KNOW it will be fast, why are they hellbent on not showing us? I guess we'll know soon enough, but the lack of examples when they see the doubts in the community is a little bit... Weird. MTX? Well, on that part they have been very firm and direct, so no reason to doubt it. Look, it's not like they haven't sold us half-truths, PR-angled sentences and done total switcharoos before. So while some people swallow their words as soon as they say them, some us are practicing a bit of critical thinking here and there. I have NO DOUBTS PoE 2 will be a banger and a success. But some of the game changers for ME, personally, they have yet to show me/prove to me. Until they do, I think I have the right to remain a healthy skeptic, no? Nothing "insane" about it, really. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Sep 17, 2024, 4:45:06 PM
