Game "crashes" whole system !! EDIT: Its not POE !!
" Thanks for you input and trying to help, but do you rly think both of my Samsung got wrecked at the same time, because I tried POE on both of them allready - new installation four different times done. And both got destroyed exactly when the new patch came ? And all other things (programms, games, benchmarks, stresstests) are still running great ? Sry, but I dont think thats possible, IMHO. Its just POE since the last patch that crashes my system, nothing else. xd
" Will try that tommorow, its getting late over here. But I can tell you I allready went back to the GEFORCE driver you recommanded and then tried a complete new POE install again with VPN, because some GGG dev said a few years ago that could help when installing updates so my internet providers does not cause any problems. And, you guessed it, didnt help, froze in Login screen again and had to shut down hard with reset/power button again, its getting old allready. :-(
I really don't think this is a disk issue. I too started suffering from this problem ever since this league, the game freezing the whole system. I have two (different) SSDs, and I moved install directory from one to the other, and that did not help the problem. This is something with the game

Well if you are 100% sure your disks are ok, even without testing it, dont test then
Question: have you tested your pc on another heavy game? like the first descendant, witcher 3, the division, etc.. because I saw there are graphic errors in the log and stress tests like furmark dont test the ram gigs of the graphics card extensively Last edited by CrisFenix on Jul 31, 2024, 7:38:43 PM

Hi guys,
first of all le me thank all of you for trying to help me. Secondly, for the moment I will not try to run POE anymore, because nothing seems to work for me and I still have no idea whats wrong with my game or my pc, and I dont want to destroy my system. IMHO, a game should never freeze my whole system so I have to shut it down manualy, but yesterday it even happened right at the first screen where the GGG Logo is building up and the wheels are turning. And on another try it happened when I tried to write my password in the login screen. Nothing I changed or tried over the last 2 days worked. It still just freezes every time, music is running but I can do nothing anymore and my whole system crashes (all my leds in the pc change their color as if the pc is starting), and I have to use reset/power button because nothing else works anymore. And yes, I checked my SSDs, I sanned and benchmarked them with the Samsung Software, and the Firmware is/was up to date, too. Third, I will try to replicate the system crash with other benchmarks and stresstest, and will try other "hard" games as recommended, but as of now I am not able to crash or freeze my system in any other way then starting POE ! xd I hope some GGG dev will read some of the things written in this thread and will be able to help me, because I would love to further play the game like I did for more then a decade now. Thanks again for all the help so far, Nagash Last edited by Nágash on Aug 1, 2024, 5:52:32 AM

!!! UPDATE !!!
Like I myself thought from the beginning and some of you said, too. No game should crash the system completly. And like we thought, its clearly not POE´s or GGG´s fault. It just was a stupid coincedence that it started with the patch. :-( After further testing today I found other things that freeze and crash my system the same way .......... AMD Ryzen Master Stresstest - ok Cinebench multi and single - ok Heaven benchmark and 30 min - ok but then like suggested here ....... The Witcher - FREEZE/CRASH 3D Mark 12x benchmark - FREEZE/CRASH No its time for me to find the problem, because other things all run fine. I dont rly have an idea how to find the problem, but maybe I have to start changing hardware pieces arround. Thanks again for all the help here, Nagash Edit: First idea is a defect "riser cabel", because after the crashes and the try to restart with reset button the mainboard shows error code 97, which to my knowledge should be something with the PCIe Edit2: It start to get worse, I just crashed that moment when I wanted to edit a typo here in the text, ohh no, :-( Last edited by Nágash on Aug 1, 2024, 2:41:55 PM
