Returning/new player...

Hey!

It's been almost 6 years since I played this game (my first and probably last league was Delve*), after feeling burnt out from Diablo 4 I decided to come back but found out there's a lot of stuff to learn/re-learn...

Are there any guides out there for this current season? And what would be the most viable build for a beginner?

Thanks in advice!

welcome back
On 26th there starts a new season and the actual ends about 3 days before. And nobody knows until now if the current function of this season will go to standard. So i think it's wasted time at the moment to learn what the functions are.
in about 5,5 days we get the information from GGG (live stream) what the new season is and what changes they do general. Afterwards there wil be for sure that players give out a beginners build.
Take the time to play around (perhaps in standard) to see what general changes are since you played. there are lot of things to discover :-)

The current league is about to end but you could use it to just level a character with no expectations just to get a feel for the game again.

Since we have no patch notes of the new league just yet it's hard to tell what the "most best" beginner build is going to be.
It also depends a lot on your preference and play style.

The best advice is to keep your hand away from all the bait build websites and content creators as most don't offer you anything good with only a few exceptions being useful.
Your best bet is to find a guild, ask in global chat or ask friends if they happen to play the game actively.
Or just the good old method of "learn by doing" works decently fine as well.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

There are always guides for any type of content, and for all kinds of players. Youtube is your friend.

Currently we are waiting for the next league, so you have time to boot the game up and give it a quick go in standard if you want.

Welcome back.
Well, I guess the general advice of "don't start with a build whose damage is based on weapons, and especially not melee" wouldn't have changed since then ?
Advice for returning players:

- don't play melee
- don't play minions
- don't play a build that requires stand-still self-casting
- have year 2030 quality computer hardware
- allocate 26 hours a day to play
- temper your loot expectations to near zero when playing T16 and below content
Minions are like top3 friendliest for noobs builds wtf u talking about

Advice for new and returning players:
- don't listen to this guy
I woluld say this - use this time that is left in Necropolis and just play the game. Do whatever You want to test or try and just go with the game and allow Yourself to dive into new things.

Play SSF just for fun and on new League U will be better prepared.
