Someone please tell me how to link items here.
I ctrl+click it down there in my inventory, it popps up here. Says linkItem location="Weapon" character="DodgeThis" x="0" y="0" When I click preview all is nicely displayed verified text is yellow and everything is nicely readable. Line Formatting is how I put it in the editor. But then I hit submit. Some magic happens ... and Im left with following: Formatting is gone (items and text is just put next to each other even items hovering over spoiler area and such. Veryfied text is white and you cant see nothing when you hover your mouse over the image. When I try to edit it again. Instead of having linkItem location="Weapon" character="DodgeThis" x="0" y="0" there's item post="486049" index="1" inline="0" Oh just a little patience was required :) At the end it was the refresh of this page, not patience that solved this, weird. Pretty much my same build, though I started Marauder. I think it's slightly more efficient this way? You have a lot less Dex than me, but I'm going to be converting it all into armor pretty soon, so I don't think it's a total waste. Also, I don't have much +int, but am able to use wrath right now because of a +107 int amulet I got :X

I might drop cold for determination late-late game if enemies start doing buttons of damage. I have a newbie question, with your high amount of HP and pretty good evasion will Iron Reflexes help you or not? I'm new but based on what I read here IR seems to work very well with high amount of HP so I was thinking about getting it. Can you give me your opinion why I should or should not go for it? thanks.

@anubite
I saw you used all 111 point from the web planner. I had 37 points left at lvl 63. So unless you plan to level up to 95+ rethink your final build while having approx 40 to 30 points left in the planner, that will give you more appropriate end-game build picture. Then about the similarity about the builds. I have used only 7 points for damage/attack. I do not plan to put anything more. Every other single point goes to life% and regen bonuses. I dont even take the "nice ones" that are along the way 1 or 2 clicks away. (Like the Armour Master or Life leech) You on the other hand spent quite a lot I would even say more than 1/2 of passive in damage/attack/critical passives, as I saw your final tree. But you're correct, Marauder would be more efficient in that kind of build I pick. But I picked ranger as my 1st character in this patch, because I like it the most and then I thought, I want to play this one as safe as possible and thought massive life and regen is the way to do so (hopefully you noticed I'm HC player). Here is my 52lvl pure life Marauder build - no damage passives no armour passives, nothing, pure life and regen.

TODO: make a thread with the build put url here :)
And about the auras. It is probably possible to combine it in way where you can be able to have all 3 elem bonus auras on and the determination as well. But either those auras would have to be low lvl (lightning and fire) to cost less as the other 2 take percentage so lvl does not matter. And you would have to have reduced manacost connected to all of them and either bloodmagic supports on main skills or very high manasteel. But I don't think that 4 auras are possible for non-int build and I don't even recoomend it, because I think it will generate you more troubles than its worth. (troubles in finding appropriate equip) And I want to point out one thing at the end: Poison Arrow supplements my heavy life no dmg build very nicely. There are no Chaos damage passive bonuses on the tree, so you don't have to focus on increasing that kind of type of damage. And If you look at the lvl 15 skill it does extra 1000 chaos damage (spread over 4 sec) but still. Plus it can be 50% more if you use the concetrated effect support. So I one-hit everything (besides champions and bosses and Maelstorm of Chaos) in Merciless even with the lack of damage/attack passives. Takes them 3-4 seconds to die, but still one-hit :) Im just trying to say that one does not have to focus on damage that much. |

@gjrud
Iron Reflexes. I will just share my experience here: There is a top of damage taken reduction. With a certain amount of defence rating you can reach it. But for me having 80% or 90% reduction is not that big of a deal. (difference between having 20% or 60% is obvious) Have a look at the green Granite flask I'm using. +10 000 armour. Drinking it raises my damage taken reduction to 82% for 5 seconds. And 5 seconds is far enough I need to get out of the troubles that can face me, because most of the time I kill them before thay can hit me. So I don't want to sacrifice my 41% chance to evade for those 8% damage taken reduction. For me I rather drink the flask in a time of need. My strategy is to strafe, dodge and attack from distance and not getting hit. (Archers don't hurt that much and they miss me half the time anyway) And if you're not getting hit, you don't need damage taken reduction. But not using Iron reflexes goes with the style I choose to play my Bow Ranger. But as a passive itself its worth using - it gives you more security, It just don't fit in the gameplay I choosed and like. |

Hey there.
So I've been running a variation of this build with great success (until Chaos, that is). I've traded some health for Iron Reflexes and + %43 armor, because I hate evasion. I've roflstomped through Merciless without any issues. At level 60 I had about 2.8k HP, moderate resists (fire at 75, naturally), ~55% damage reduction. Obviously, my gear was pretty subpar, but I thought I could manage in Chaos with proper care. But then I got sorta-1-shot by an extra fast puncture rare dog. I got hit by puncture, I couldn't stand there and take hits and I couldn't run away - dead. Looking back, I think, maybe I could have tanked it under granite flask for 10 seconds, but what if puncture was renewed. Anyways, any idea where I went wrong? How do you handle puncture? (aside from escape -> exit). Do I have to be more tanky to start Chaos? Cheers. |
