A few thresholds to reach/improvements:
1) Grab the int and mana split personality instead of int and evasion version (They cost around 10-15 chaos at the moment). 2 of these in the bottom slot cluster jewel would give a large amount of int and mana.
2) Try to reach 7k mana.
3) For survivability, since we are now running power siphon and not the spell totem version for levelling, we can drop Arcane Blessing ascendancy as it is now useless. You can allocate the ascendancy points into sanctuary of thought which would give you 1.6k energy shield which is a big boost to defences.
4) Try to max out crit, with the Balbala jewel and diamond flask active, you can achieve a good amount of crit but there are ways to boost it further. Try enchanting your wand with the harvest craft crit chance per x quality or can try runecrafting for 7% crit chance. Secondly, can use eldritch currency to try to get brittle ground as an implicit on the boots. I would craft critical strike chance rather than attack speed on the wand as crits are majority of our damage for the build.
5) Try to get an intimidate implicit ring which is a big amount of damage as enemies take 10% increased damage against attacks.
6) With the balbala jewel, try to find ones that give good passives like crit chance/attack speed/aura effect/chance to blind/projectile damage/elemental damage. I use the Timeless Jewel calculator App either via the website or through POB to calculate which seeds are good. I am using 6983 Balbala which gives a lot of attack speed.
7) Lastly, without anaethema's ring, we should only be running one curse and that is Sniper's Mark. Once we have Anathaema's ring, we can then run the 4 curse setup with arcanist brand - conductivity - elemental weakness - enfeeble. I usually cast sniper's mark manually against the tough bosses/uber bosses.
Hope this helps. I think mainly the ascendancy point respec is the big boost to the build feeling good as it gives you a chunk of energy shield and makes your mana costs more sustainable as skills cost 50% less mana.
Also forgot to mention, for our actual damage numbers, you need to change the count next to power siphon to 7 as we summon 7 totems and tick the box that says include in full DPS for the actual numbers. You also need to set projectile travel distance to 1 and set effect of shock based on what your current damage is (usually between 15-20% unless you have all the upgrades - I currently do 40% against uber bosses). You also need to tick the amount of mana spend with arcane cloak. That should give you a reasonable estimate of DPS. Even then, the damage numbers might be more because of returning projectiles which is not included in the calculations.
