MF and POE
" Watcher's eyes and Progenesis. Selling voidstone carries for both. Massive thread of hope. I could go on. Progenesis is 90 divs atm. Mageblood is 165. Dropping 2 flasks is more than a mageblood. Bosses take a minute or less to kill. Bossing is profitable if you know what you are doing. If you don't, then it's like anything else. Also, dropping 5-10 divs / map is great, but it costs me 3 divs PER MAP I run, so that cuts into the profits (mapping is still insanely profitable dont get me wrong). I get 0 divs on maps. I LEAVE some maps without even running them if the juice is bad. That means I just deleted 3 divs for nothing. Last edited by Cðm#4998 on Jan 8, 2024, 3:27:59 PM

progenesis is a 1-2% drop from UMaven, key to this fight costs ~3Div
90 div per is exactly where key value and %drop puts it. in short: you net slightly above ZERO if you hit the expected drop rate. same with watchers - you hit great from time to time but i bet you sell them unid to lower the variance. noone wants 6th purity of cold frostbite immunity watchers you make money on caries (that dries out with league getting older) and on extras like awakened gems, but only if you drop more than expected. these drops are already included in the key price - yes, thats exacly how market pricing works, it accurately describes expected value. with maven it is very accurate. less so with bosses that are tedious to run (shaper..) where time-is-a-value kicks in and if you havent realised - you confirmed exactly my points: more money that comes from MF -> bigger numbers. buying power stays the same. not to mention that items for MF-slots have comical prices: ~20c for Ralakesh boots has nothing to do with power of these boots (it is the strongest boot item slot, period) but due to people finding two per map AND MF characters using Galosche that shit gold (over 20%!! players wear these boots) some items get 'free', some get insane numbers. but time required for farming the later ones stays ~the same. the end effect is just sad |

a lot of people farming ubers do so as carry services where people provide the key + loot is theirs.
Another version is providing key as carry and selling completion per person invited. The price of the key is rather irrelevant and is amortised through the service provided. If you run bosses for profit you don't run 5-10, you run hundreds. It's very profitable The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge. you run hundreds or you sell caries. unless you have a butler that handles the inviting, trading, vouching etc for you, there is very high cost inefficiency in doing it this way
mostly because people who buy caries are.. clumsy with trading? getting full party without a TFT is a time waste chore that i am not willing to experience ever again dont make it sound easier than it is. people who do 30sec eaters do not sell caries, they buy 100 invitations, overpaying for bulk, run them, get great drops from time to time, sell them. ofc they are making money, lucky variance works wonders, everything in this game makes money. but if you are slower than what market 'prices' - you will lose money on average. remember that you are fighting the 'benchmark' that is set by MF anything that involves other people and mass bossing is a mass chore. you sure can do that but what it makes in orbs it takes away in minutes spent on waiting for people loading to your HO populated with 5 full sets of MTX that make loading times insane for some. bossing is profitable in the long run, but due to spike reward design you need ~500 runs and a VERY speedy build to be ahead of the benchmark. and after 500 bosses i wonder how burnt out i would have been, even if i got 10 awakened multistrikes back to back |

^everything you are saying is equally true of MF runs. 99% of the time you get crap, just like running any other map. Meanwhile the buy in of scarabs/sextants/etc. is expensive. It is still profitable in the long run, otherwise people wouldn't do it. But so is bossing. Otherwise....people wouldn't do it.

" The price of meta mapping juice has to do with the potential returns of them. So of course they are going to scale the more you get back from them. However, look at the difference of a solo player like waggle with 0 MF and the returns of investment goratha was getting with MF gear equipped. It really is a night and day difference. Waggle built an expensive strong character and is blasting juiced maps, gets trash returns compared to goratha with mf gear equipped. Goratha was also doing t7s, while waggle was doing t16 maps. The issue is MF multiplies all you get by all the investment you put in. If there was a stat on items that allowed me additional chances at watchers eye drops, boss keys, or whatever, it would be absurdly busted for bossing and would be mandatory. Just like IIQ (and rarity to some extent) is mandatory to get a multiplier from mapping. It all circles back to IIQ (and rarity to some extent) limiting item selection process and build diversity. If we take this a step further and GGG introduced a node for scion that gave her quantity, people would feel necessary to play that class, instead of others. Thats exactly what gearing does for build diversity. GGG has shown that if enough people do something, like gimp character over an item slot (see the neck in previous leagues) they will try to nerf to compensate. So they have in the past multiple times nerfed rarity in some form or fashion. I think they didn't take it far enough. People are pretending like bossing is great and you can make a killing. You need to do absurd number of them as fast as possible, or sell portals for challenges to level out the field. Whereas, the other side with MFing is you can return your mapping resources in the very maps you do. You get more scarabs with IIQ and IIR conversion, you get more mapping currency with it, you literally can sustain everything you need for some of the popular strategies because its a more multiplier. Bossing gets a key at 1% chance, MF gets a more multiplier. Its the same right? Getting a good drop should be exciting and rare (abit not as rare as before this league, especially if you are juicing) but it shouldn't be so as common as to crash the market value of the items. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

This league I started out with a 80 iiq/400 iir build, then downgraded to 40 iiq/100 iir and now only running a divination distillate with PF flask effect and nothing else.
I'd say the difference is way less than people are making it out to be. Sure if you already have a godly build and can slap on some extra mf that's well and good, but being able to run higher tier maps and click iiq/iir altars are much better than mf. Everything comes from the league mechanic - the difference between 4k and 7k wisps map is incredible, and no amount of MF will compensate for that. Funny how suddenly everyone is complaining about MF without actually trying it out. The wisps are 90% and mf is maybe 10%. |

" It really isn't that proportionate. If it was then it would be better to do waggles strat over gorathaas, but its not. Theres a reason why people are stacking MF with the league content and thats because it works. There is a reason why people are willing to forgo doing t16s for the alters and go t7 maps, granted one is because depths cant spawn in lower tier maps increasing spire chance, but it still re-enforces the idea that its the last multipliers, player IIQ\IIR that is pushing the mechanic over edge. Rather then GGG never introducing a juiced mechanic or not adding the league core, they could instead have more league juicing options in the future by removing the one thing that is breaking it. " Be funny if he did cuz u don't buy keys itself that's net loss usually even with 99999 divines. You just collect the invites / buy them rather then the keys itself those are like 2/4 of the CPH. " Bro people would just do whatever the majority of streamers/content creators are doing. Ziz and Steelmage are doing the T7 cemetery/abyss farm strategy and hence 90% of people are copying them. It's sooo much more profitable to drop half the mf gear and run T11 burial chambers with the same strategy - but nope, people just gonna religiously copy streamers. I know this very well because I made 100+ divs today from flipping items related to a build a certain popular content creator recently posted about. It's not even a very good build lol PoE players are nothing if not predictable. |
