Making Uber versions of Searing Exarch, Eater of Worlds and Uber Maven their own fragments
As title states.
Having to think about if its worth it to do maven, because you cant do the uber version of it and being incentiviced/forced to sell it instead, so more optimized characters can gamble on them feels a bit disappointing whenever i get one. I would love for the maven boss encounter to maybe drop fragments for the uber maven boss fight, which you could then sell to those uber bossers. The same for Searing Exarch and Eater of Worlds. That way it might be possible to run those "normal" boss version as a more average player without feeling to miss out by "wasting" them on yourself. Have a great one! Maybe I just don't understand something, but Eater/Exarch/Maven don't have uber fragments. You have to allocate their respective keystones in the atlas passive tree to turn them into uber versions.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |

I don‘t know that adding extra layers of RNG and accessibility is good game design. Besides, this would double if not quadruple prices for uber drops

" Its about the idea of instead of having to level the uber version in the atlas tree, to seaparate normal and uber into different invitations. Im pretty sure they may have thought of that at some point, and i would be very interested for their reasons for and against. |

been meaning to make a post about this for ages. probably will at some point rather than hijacking this thread with all my thoughts. its not about access, theres plenty of ways to give appropriate access to both versions. its about people being able to run the normal version to learn the fight without being a total idiot whos wasting an uber run on normal mode. in the past with atziri fighting normal atziri is basically free, you get so much access to it. lower type players can play it, kill the boss, learn the fight, feel good, get some cool items to sell to players who cant beat her or are too scared. they also find access to the harder version and they can sell those to the bigger guys than then run those and sell the drops. you have this eco system where different levels of players can all play the bosses and theres a trade dynamic where they are all buying and selling from each other. it was really healthy. now bossing is trash in poe, if you cant run the uber version or you are not sure what do you do? you sell the fight, cause if you run the normal verison youre a fool, youre running uber atziri frags but only getting normal atziri loot, only a bad player whos bad at the game makes a bad choice like that. thats not an opinion or an accusation, thats a fact of the game hard coded in by the developers now. theres 3 types of players, players who run ubers, players who sell their invites to people who run ubers and bad players who make bad choices. that should not be how the game is. all boss fights that have a normal and uber version need separate access items. if you wanna run uber atziri you can farm normal atziri for frags or buy them or farm the div cards or add the nodes on the atlas tree that allow uber fragments to drop from the side areas instead of normal ones. its not about making it harder to access these bosses, that side of it is irrelevant because theres 20 ways to implement it so its not an issue. the issue is the economic triangles in this community trade economy based game and its about having progress for people to be noobs, to work their way up to bosses, farm them, understand the mechanics, progress to harder versions etc. if doing that makes you a bad player because the devs have it set up where only bad players make stupid decisions like running non uber bosses then its the games mechanics that are bad and need fixed. This would be a bad idea. For several reasons; Im assuming it would have to be a drop added from the normal versions. And .... you are leaving out a few of the uber fights as well? Sirus? Cortex? UUE? 1: These would need to be a 100% drop chance from the normal versions. So you just added a valuable drop to the normal versions... increasing their price and making them less accessible for just the normal versions. 2: Now people that want to run ubers have to buy/drop something rather than allocate something on the passive tree for free. So you now just increased the price to run ubers that used to be free. Gating more boss fights behind even MORE currency. 3: All the uber specific drops +increased drops now have an increased price. They took currency/more time to run so those prices will be affected. Leading to even less accessibility in items. Ie: Progenesis, awakened exceptionals, good fleshes/flames, return proj ring... A lot of issues for people that trade would pop up from this and soon people would be asking to switch it back. Mash the clean

I have an idea I think would work better.
Delete them and fill in the massive gap of progression with fun. You can clear all maps and normal bosses in 2 weeks, then what? The Uber grind. It's bad and they should feel bad. Arbitrary DR and Damage Multipliers. Those are these amazing boss designs GGG prides themselves on? Fact is, mechanic driven bosses suck. Do the dance a few time and that's it.
