Lmao they absolutely were bitching about it during Harvest league. Mostly because of the gardening mechanic where you had to micro-manage supply of lifeforce and build the infrastructure from the ground up (which personally I found very fun, but alas..)

It only really took off in Ritual when you'd have instant gratification from Harvest and didn't have to wait multiple maps to get a shot at your craft

I don't even think it's a generation problem. People have and will always be bitching about the status quo

It's not just abyss farming though. I was watching a streamer and he has already found 9 mirrors in this league. I remember the days where finding a mirror was basically near on impossible. For one person who doesn't even play in a group to find 9 mirrors tells me the league mechanic is broken.

Well in this case ultimatum feels and plays literally the same just as during the league. The only thing they've adjusted is the difficulty to meet today's power level and the loot table, which is also pretty rewarding with the catalyst items selling like hot buns or just the Inscribed items on its own.
Yet people are so heavily unhappy about the return of the league.

They could even put og synthesis back into the game and people would start to hitch about having to farm that instead of beast craft their triple implicit items.

GGG gives ultimatum but it no longers shits loot left and right and is no longer braindead easy

its still braindead easy, the loot is about comparison - I personally have found it to be pretty rewarding infact it feels about right.

But then i'm not willing to sit in Sanctum all league either.

Honestly i'm pretty happy with Ultimatums reintroduction, they haven't gutted it at all its still the same easy to access fun mechanic, while a few redditors will whinge about anything keep in mind most players having fun never post anything.

They removed loot from Ultimatum entirely, you only get the reward. So loot is not even close to what it used to be.
That part was always going to get cut though Aynix Ritual was the same, at the time Ultimatum was extremely rewarding both in its actual rewards and its capability to be farmed for regular loot/juice.

It was always going to lose some of the first and most of the second every mechanic does (except sanctum which got drastically buffed comparatively)

The point is it feels similar to other mechanics if you ignore the current extreme overperformers.

Well, the problem is, imo, that there are not enough deterministic and good rewards, that make it worth it to do the difficult high tier content. So just rolling the dice faster in low tier maps is better?!...

Altairs maybe, but that probably means t14 is way better than t16 and whoever does
t16 must be out of their mind... ;P

It would also be quite easy to balance it, so that t16 mobs would be the best by far...Bottleneck the juice in low tier maps. Don't make the juice create unkillable Rares. What good is a challenge, if it isn't worth it in the end? Juice should not interact with other league mechanics. No Abyss + less other problems. And finally make it so that at the top end of the map tiers, there is just way more juice in the forest, so that even the step from t15 to t16 matters when it comes to droprates vs killspeed and potential loot...

Then everybody can kill their magic shrine monster packs or extra packs from compasses/sextants in t16 maps and get an extra divine here and there, because of the league mechanic. Other league mechanics do what they do and there are less angry people that cannot complete them, because they are searching for some League Boss at the beginning of the map, that they need for their challenge or extra ascendancy points...
Most players are happy, not everything is gigacrazy and ridiculous...
