Hi Wrecker - I see you've updated the Zombie and Reaper trees to use Lust for Carnage (leech speed and 10% instant leech) instead of Bloodless (20% increased life). Would you be willing to share the thought process behind that?
Oh ya! I guess I could have posted that here. Silly me. Good call.

Now that Bone Barrier gives leech (new to this 3.24), and to us specifically (not our minions), I've spent some time seeing what it feels like/looks like while mapping. The Leech would have to be REALLY strong for me to consider investing into it further because our tree is already stretched pretty thin. I'm happy with the tree, but it there was no room to spare. So depending on how Leech performed with both this build and other minion builds was something I wanted to experience first, instead of adding to a build blindly.

I decided to go with Leech because of the mastery option that gives us '10% of Leech is Instant'. Taking Lust for Carnage has 2 out of 3 nodes that improve our Leech as well so it's an even stronger selection. When we have 20 minions hitting at a time, it's insane how much more life recovery we get. I was skeptical before trying it because my builds don't have the offence of other builds, but even with my defence-first builds, the recovery is something we would normally only dream of. So once I experienced the crazy Leech, it was going in the build for sure.

So, now the cost. Where the f*&% should I take 4 nodes from? Replacing the damage nodes would normally make sense for an HC build, but we're adding Leech. The better the damage, the better the recovery. And recovery is the whole reason I was adding Leech to begin with. As I looked around the tree I came up with two options: Bloodless or Juggernaut. I'm not a fan of cutting either life or Armour, but c'est la PoE vie. Normally, with any build, I HATE being under 175% life on the tree. This build at league-launch was already under that at 171%.

At league-launch we had:
- 170% Armour
- 171% life.

If we removed Bloodless for Lust for Carnage we have:
- 170% Armour
- 143% life (yikes!)

Removing Juggernaut we have:
- 138% Armour
- 159% life

My deciding factor was actually the mastery I have with Juggernaut, 100% Armour after being stationary for 5s. Adding 100% armour to the equation above turns into the following differences:

Removing Jugg for Bloodless:
- 132% decreased armour
- for 16% increased life

or

By removing Bloodless for Jugg:
- 132% increased armour
- for 16% decreased life

After looking at it like that the choice was much easier.

I hate having only 143% life. So we'll see what changes for 3.25.

Okay is it possible to fit in a large cluster jewel with minions doing chaos damage since this build seems to be doing chaos damage from minions?
Ya! Add whatever clusters you like, but it's up to you what you cut to make it work.

But, the Chaos cluster won't work. We can only improve our minions' damage by increasing Minion or Ally damage. Increasing Chaos damage only increases OUR chaos damage...and we don't do damage. Our minions do. So you could use the Minion clusters instead.

You could increase the damage an enemy takes...that's technically not improving out damage. So something like Despair (skill), or nodes like it, help minion builds too.

@KowalchukAleks (from X)

I'm glad the build has been so amazing for your brother! That's great to hear!

Minion builds in general are quite straightforward to increase damage:

- Only 'minion', 'ally', or 'increasing the damage the enemy takes' improves minion damage.
- Minion gear wands and shields can roll increased minion damage to over 100%.
- Increasing the level of minion gems, or spell gems is a HUGE boost, and in my opinion the best option as it also improves all other aspects of the minion (such as health). This can roll on amulets, and minion wands & shields.
- Increasing the number of maximum zombies. This can be done by using oils on an amulet to anoint the Death Attunement notable from the passive tree, getting 20% quality on your zombie gem, and they are mods that can be on some fancy amulets, body armours, and helmets.
- Finding the ability to add a second curse to the build would let you add Despair.

INcreasing minion gem levels via any of the Raise Zombie skill gem tags is the best route. If they find a weapon that has both minion damage AND an increase to minion damage, then it's party time. :)

Does this help at all? If not, let me know.

Hey this is Aleks' brother, the one playing the minion build, and I wanted to say thanks! This is just what I was looking for. Since this is my first time through the game, I was a little spoiled for choice and had no clue what to focus on next. Thank you!
Great stuff.
Can any of your builds do simulacrum?
hi guys

i've two more questions for you if i may

- about the shield, the spirit shields can bring a huge amount of "minions deal x% of damage" wich is, if i understood correctly, the best way to scale behind leveling gems
so i was wondering if we can pick up the "40% reduced extra damage from critical strikes" in an other way than the shield, and if yes, is it worth ?

- about the helmet, i found a helmet that brings me +1 to level of all minion skill gems", i put it on POB and it appears that it gives me more damage than the bone helmet
but i know that POB is a very sensitive tool and im afraid to miss something like maybe POB doesnt count something, especially with a minion build
do you guys think its possible this can be better than the minions deal damage from the bone helmet ?

thank you guys and please excuse my english

Hey, M3tax!

The Zombie build can. Again though, I'm a defence-first kind of player so the simulacrums are longer, but the build totally can, yes.

Hey Pat!

1) Reduced Crit. damage only comes from Shields. Rarely it can show up on fancy Body Armours, but it's not worth planning around. So you'll have to choose between Reduced Crit. Damage Taken or Minion Gem levels until you find a shield with both on it.

2) Bone Hemlets are nice, but not important. They give a small boost to damage. Increasing Gem levels is complicated math per minion, but as a rule of thumb, you can estimate that raising a minion's gem level is like adding 80% increased damage to your minions. I still prefer this over having a mod that gives minions 100%+ increased damage because raising minion gem levels also improves other attributes like minion health, cooldowns...whatever it is. The game sucks at letting us know, but we know there's more per minion per level than just damage. So I always choose to increase gem levels over having flat increases to damage. SOooo, Bone Helmets are a pretty minor perk.

3) Your English is perfect. Keep it up!
