This game has definitely went overboard with the on-death mechanics.

Its been a minute since I played, but it seems every other mob has something that happens after death, that generally 1 shots you.

On-death mechanics has always been one of the most annoying mods in this game, or any game for that matter, and its compounded 10x by how terrible the visual clarity is in this game.

When you got a overlay map open, fairy dust poofing out of their corpses, visual clutter laying everywhere with muted, bland, and dark colors, you cant see this stuff half the time.

Its like they have dialed it up even more since the last time I played.

Its easily one of the worst mechanics in Arpgs. Its dialed up to 11, for no reason at all, in a game with possibly the worst visual clarity of any Arpg. On top of Rare affixes being the equivalent of fine print on a contract. Yea in the 0.5 second time it took to kill that guy, I happened to catch the on-death mechanic under his name in size 2 font, with a mini-map up and god knows what else visually impairing the map.

I can honestly say Ive died more times to after death or on death mechanics than anything else in the game.

I introduced someone to PoE and we played a bit of act 1, slowly making progress until we killed Brutus. After the fight he said I have absolutely no idea what's happening on-screen and who's killing who.
That's a common problem of PoE. Too many on death effects and visual diarrhea on screen.
Constantly move and always wait 10 sec after every mob to loot :D

POE has pretty much regressed into an 80s bullet-hell arcade game under the auspice of an ARPG; with entire layers of stats and artwork masking what really amounts to doing more damage and being regularly 1-hit, or doing less damage and being able to survive 2-hits.

This works well but not every single time. They need to dial it down by 50%.

I do. What about it? Melee is tanky enough to not die to on death effects.
Kripp died to the ultimate on-death effect and we laughed instead of heeding the warning

(yes I know detonate dead isn't technically on-death, the bleeding should have been cut off early though)

The only way one can die to DD is either its bugged (like it was for few first days during this league, when it was instant) [Removed by Support] DD is well telegraphed and you have more than enough time to react and dodge.
