So has the Dev team given up? Just gonna make us suffer with these ArchNem 2.0 Mobs?

you should try 10 mirrors league starter!

As always balance is for streamers, not for common plebs.

No, if it was balanceed for streamers then streamers would not be able to take advantage of it. Because those mechanics are balanceds around casual Bob, anyone who is at higher level is able to abuse it to oblivion. And if you are that casual Bob, you are upset because of that.

Ironically, a squishy deadeye is perfectly fine this league (playing it myself), but man, I wouldn't want to be a melee build in 6k+ wisp map.

Why is that? Melee is apparently "perfectly balanced" and "totally viable".

Because the league mechanic multiplicatively buffs the monster's offense, so many untelegraphed attacks that would normally be ignorable are really damn lethal. Combine that with decreased visual fidelity (at least for me, that wisp glitter in maps makes me not see shit I would normally see), and I wouldn't want to have to go anywhere close to the monsters.

But shouldn't melee have the tools to deal with that? And if not, is the class really competitive?
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
Just get screen wide AoE and you wont need to get close to enemy.

I don't get the feeling this game is really balanced much at all besides trying to get people to stick with league for awhile and smashing their controller or keyboard and quitting. Which must be a pretty narrow balance.

level 93 atm, and 3 of my deaths were to an empowered k'aj a'alai in vaal temple, that physical firestorm kills me on any build and in every league anyway

it's true that the league content is hard, but it's designed around the power creep we get from the new ascendancies. if you're utilizing the new ascendancies and your build is half decent you won't have any issues with anything

Not HC viable? Your opinion is invalid! /s

This is unironically my method of playing melee on HC, its a bit of a cheese but it does work, most melee skills can have considerable radius and even strikes you can get your AC ghost dude to hit from half the screen away really.

What should those tools look like?

If it's gems, anyone can use them. Items? Budget is already the main challenge of melee. Passives? Travelling around the tree has never been easier.

What's left are ascendancies, which is exactly what GGG has been going for for a while.
