How to fix melee builds

No, they didn handle melee better. Those games have no trade and people playing there are not fixated about making as much currency per hour as possible. As long melee will be slower than ranged (and it needs to be slower otherwise it will make no sense) people will play ranged builds.

Not having to slog through the game to get to a decent power level or having to play builds you don't want to for hours to farm up currency does count as "handling melee better." Sorry to pop your bubble.

There's absolutely zero reason melee *has* to be slower, other than your god complex. Especially when other archetypes do all the damage with half the risk and half the investment it takes to even get melee off the ground.

You've been hate watching this thread for well over 4 hours now. You should probably go see a doctor.

Pop my bubble? I played all of those games and in all of them casters were still better. Dont try to fool people thinking they dont know about games you listed.

Just like there is not a single reason why melee SHOULD be faster. Why would a damn walking tank with weapon bigger than an avarage human and in an armor that weights more than a cow be faster than some guy wtih wooden stick or a Ranger? Other than so people like you would finally STFU that "melee bad" ofc.

the funny thing about this argument is the "walking tank" in most cases are SQUISHIER and do vastly less damage than those in cloth armor or ranger.

No, you are not tankier. The only reason why you think you are tankier is because you are not getting hit. In situations where you cant avoid being hit by just killing things offscreen, those "cloth armor or rangers" are definitely much more squishy. Try melee build that actually has some range, instead being at the face of monsters and its pretty much immortal.

If the walking tank feels squishier than some deadeye then it's not a tank. That's one of the big issues with people in this community playing melee. They don't know how to build defenses, make builds that are essentially ranged casters defensive wise but require being in close combat and obviously die all the time because of it.

Try making and playing a build that can facetank ubers and wave 30 simulacrums with unmoving lifepool and your perspective on many of the so called "melee issues" is going to change drastically. DPS and damage uptime are the prime candidates.
Similar to how ranged builds "feel tankier" because they don't get hit they also "feel" like they have more DPS when in reality they just have more damage uptime because the melee builds they get compared to aren't much tankier and have to kite just as much as them while being unable to do damage while doing so. If you are tanky enough to ignore every mechanic coming your way then damage uptime and DPS are not an issue..

Dont you know that if you want to be tanky you roll Deadeye, not JUGG /s
Melee will always be trash. it takes usually 20x more currency to get to the same stage as a ranged/casters. but yes it needs a buff tbh sadly that will never happen most decent melee builds are dead but boneshatter but that requires so much currency and there passives for strength are lackluster where a caster can get 300% more dmg than you for less. The Passives need a major boost. weapons need to be easier to get.

the fact you can't get a good axe for BS without spending a load of divines blows.

i love melee ans refuse to jump on the meta but look like i'll likely dip for another 6 months sadly.

Let me rephrase this: I love melee in other games, but in this game only Boneshatter is meta, and I play only meta, so I wont touch melee here.

feel free to show an example of this facetanking ubers unmoving lifepool melee character

I will wait oh wait let me guess ... boneshatter

so again Melee is perfectly fine but ONLY if you use the 1 out of 30+ melee skills.

perfectly fine ... perfectly balanced no changes needed everything is great here in POE melee land ... its a fucking utopia

but only if you like playing one skill

1 min youtube search, it's even on HC and it's not BS what a surprise. BS is trash for ubers.
The video has POBs including a budget version. You don't really have to take it this far to get a feel for it and there are other setups and ways to do this.

You'd have to tweak it a little to compensate for the lack of tatoos but we've got an entire ascendacy this league so shouldn't be much powerloss overall, if any.

Here is non poison version from this league facetanking wave 30 simu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KWPBlGeMFg
