The little Crowbell with its literal crying baby noise is worse, but I hate the goblins more. I'd like to do Heist but I can't becuase the Harbor is BESIEGED by them.

Trying POE 1 for the first time in years, and this is genuinely insufferable.
The simple solution is to have all player sounds client side only. The fact that GGG hasn't implemented this is quite damning in regard to respecting a player's experience.

The primary issue is that GGG say to themselves "look at all the revenue we generated by enabling trolls in our game" rather than realising "look at all this lost revenue from players that no longer want to support us because we pissed them off and demonstrated that we don't care about their gaming experience".
The simple solution is to not let a pet making sound in a game, in a place you'll spend very little time, bother you so much.

If it gets to this point, its time to re-evaluate things, and try to make a change for the better. As its not longer the games fault at this stage for a unreasonable emotional response.

Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.

There's simply no good reason for GG to have implemented this in the form it is currently in. This is such an easily fixed issue for something that was completely unnecessary to begin with.

The gobbos came from a Supporter Pack, didn't they? Which means they weren't something the players chose, so much as something that they simply got for buying the pack. I have to wonder if, had they been a stand-alone MTX, would we see fewer, or more of them? Would people have bought them deliberately, and to what end?

From the responses supporting the Gobbos, I get the strong impression that inflicting them on other players is the whole point, so making them "owner experience only" would defeat the reason they use them.

GGG has the foresight of a Khajiit in a sandstorm... Or they're actually satisfied with how these noisy little runts are being used. Wonder if/when they'll show up in PoE Deuce? =9[.]9=
