I do feel guilty I got bored by PoE 2 talk today

Agreed especially with the Q/A where they spent 5 minutes talking about WASD or whatever who cares?
I also felt extremely bored. It seemed dragged out with explaining every ranged weapon and their ammo. Couldn't wait for new League reveal. It was also quite disappointing that Chris Wilson didn't cover the reveal.

During the League reveal I actually noticed something that I never noticed before - all the combat showcase was extremely slow - like current PoE 2 gameplay showcases. Perhaps there's hope that PoE 2 won't be so boring combat wise after all.

Also the best drop in PoE 2 showcase was a Portal Scroll? I guess hello, Ruthless 2.0.
There was just too much time spent on POE 2. Had the presentation been much more concise and maybe the amount of questions about it had been limited to 2 or 3 during the Q & A, it might have been less of a drag to watch.

I wanted information about the new league, which is out next week, rather than what I'd consider too much information about a game that conceivably might only be out of beta in a few years.
Agreed
The Mercenary reveal shows a significant deviation from Chris' original statement that there would NEVER be guns in PoE. Of course, plans change, right?

Funny part is:

They wanted to slow down gameplay with POE 2, which they partially did but then have no cooldown dodge rolls and a shooter minigame with the Mercenary class.

The initial idea has not lasted that long i guess

Probably because they love showing slow, "strategic" gameplay in which the player is supposed to use 20 skills for each type of enemy or situation.
Who is ever gonna play like that, honestly...

Plus its too dark soul alike for me. Too much focus on bosses and dodging and all that.

In reality people will still use max. two skills at most for efficiency.
The skill gems with best overall performance under most circumstances.

Nobody cares about ice wall crossbow shite when you can blow whole screens away before that is even needed.

For me it was basically skill showcase (nothing more) but not how people will really play the game when out of the slow campaign and doing endgame content.

It was a slog to go through true, but man! WASD as an option? nice!

I wished I was hyped for PoE2 that looks visually and technologically stunning

Meh, all I can think about, is that the game I actually like, won't get the visual and technological upgrades it was 'promised'. There still hasn't been anything in any PoE 2 trailer/showcase that has made me want to play it over PoE 1.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
