Why gate the new gems behind lab?

If the gems/options on the divine fond are not worth it to run lab than there is no point doing it of course...

And if you paly trade it is of no concern anyway, you can just buy what you want. In ssf you can run normal lab if you are so desperate for a skill gem.(i would take the first broken one i see and reroll, problem solved). Can't just play ssf and expect to get what you want.

They are worth it once per build, then lab becomes abandoned except for few dedicated runners, just as it is now.

Because its not lab run your best end game gear for extra bonus, now its a part of the common grind and you will need to lab run multiple gems multiple times, and it also closes off selling end game gems to anyone who doesn't want to do endless lab runs.

Its exactly the same as running heist for alternate quality and lab for enchant. So what is the real problem here? You had to do it, nothing changed.

I agree with Kuciol here. While I am not a fan of either lab or heist, I still do them and quite frankly, other being a time sink, running lab isn't all that bad as long as the layout is okay.

As a side note: I wonder if they are looking at redesigning lab layouts because backtracking for keys, etc, get frustrating. Prolly not, but I wonder.

Tempering orb, fracturing orb, etc etc etc.

Also even heist is more enjoyable than lab.

For you. I hate heist with passion but you dont see me crying over replicas.

There is a small difference of lab having no general loot, no exp, but having traps instead, with no reward to spend time avoiding them.

I did vouch for adding more content to lab in some earlier thread here, but that was about generic loot, on par with other major farming strats. What they've done is put unique and mandatory rewards in there, so every player will either have to spam lab (wasting time on loot and exp scale), or rely on trade even more.

Heist worked as fully functional arpg gameplay with full spectrum of rewards from other league content, and gems on top. Lab in its current state is weird gimmick for hardcore masochists made by hardcore masochists.

Good lab build just runs through the traps. No need to avoid them. Also the rewards are not mandatory in any way, shape or form the same way helm enchants and alt quality gems werent. You can just buy them if you dont feel like running lab, tthe choice is yours.

Only for you buddy. I would rather watch paint dry than play Hesit.

Ditto. I don't mind Lab, Heist seems like a chore.

Imagine saying an entire build to do one hugely important but tiny aspect of gameplay isn't insane.

You dont have to but lab runners are a thing if you want to specialize, everyone else can just throw in vitality and leap slam and be done with it. I usually do all 3 labs in act 10 and it takes me like 10-20 minutes depending on build and layout, its really not that complex.

yah but unless youre contracting lab runners for gems unlike heist this will result in a massive filtering of content, for example how many blast rain lab runners will there be? Sure there will be thousands of RF runner but the point is to diversify not lock.
No, point was to make lab have something to offer that other type of content dont. I dont know where did you get that scenario of yours.

Then make lab drop random gems instead of gem enchants, its a massive content filtering for 99.9% of the playerbase.

You either follow meta builds or waste your time making the worst build in the game.

This is an objectively bad update.
