In games like wow and warframe etc more than 90-96% of players are causal. There are also statistics for this.
The advantage is that causals hardly burn any server traffic because they often have family. and they go to work, so they also have money for digital crap.
So it's no wonder that company don't have enough money for top IT coders and can't even calculate primitive things like balance in excel. Because the boys don't work for packs of noodles and are recruited by top companies.
As someone that labels themselves as casual;

I usually just shoot for maps. And that's about it.

I don't play the game consistently, I bounce in and out as my desire for an ARPG kicks in. I don't have the time nor the skill to kill whatever uber boss is the true end game this season.

So to have fun I usually make 2-3 characters in a season, try some new skill gem set up and see how far I can get before the number bloat kills me. Along with sightseeing the new mechanics added in since last time I played.

I mean, I'm sitting here going "I kinda want to play PoE, but the League ends next month so that's just kinda putting me off from starting. Think I'll just do my sightseeing when the new one starts.

You launch the game and do whatever content you like the most, just like everyone else. If you don't enjoy any content at all you're simply in the wrong game.

The term of being a "casual" player doesn't really exist in any game.

You either find enjoyment in some simple stuff that you do and you don't really care to advance in knowledge or skill (no or very low self established goals) , or you find enjoyment in getting more advanced in a game that you enjoy playing and simply get better over time just by setting up higher goals that you want to achieve.

Cause everyone who plays a game and has a job is a "casual" at this rate (not including people who stream a game for a living, or create content for a living)
Using the excuse of being just a "casual" in any game is just bs cause even players with a full time job, kids and all that stuff reach endgame, do the "fancy" content or whatsoever in any game. It's just your own mindset that limits you in "success"
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Personally... ever since I tried SSF, my focus on the game shifted from earning as much money, to just finding and crafting the best gear~ (And hopefully killing Ubers)

Less pressuring in SSF now that I think about it

the drops are the same for ssf?
So you can play normally and just run away from every player and ignore the trade website?

Yep as mentioned by odds above, drop rates are the same <3 It's just the trade that is disabled, and I gotta say... it's super refreshing!

poe is casual friendly as long as you arent expecting to do pinacle content thats designed to be aspirational content that is for people that did everything else, curb your expectations and enjoy t1 maps, they are esentialy as fun as t16, you just have preconception that t16 better than t1 because bigger number better
casuals can enjoy poe, just dont watch streamers. seeing all the cool stuff you will never experience and be able to do as a casual will ruin your poe experience.

does it have to ruin your experience, when you see billionaire chilling on his 500 million yacht on tv, does it ruin you fishing in your 100$ paddle boat? its just a matter of perspective
