whats a meter?
" [Removed by Support] PoB isn't part of PoE, it's a third party tool that is used by most of the community to plan a build and see the impact of gearchanges etc to the build. (me included), the use however should always be optional (planning/min-maxing) and not be necessary to see what a ingame stat does. I'm not saying PoB is something bad, I'm only saying GGG should define ingame what a meter is, if they rename the stat like that. (was bad before to. btw.) " a meter is 10 units, and 1 unit is basically the distance of the increments you can move your hideout decorations Each circle encompasses an area with a radius of 10 (10 radius is 10 units, and 10 units is 1 meter) or its multiples. Thus the smallest circle has a radius of 1 meter, and the skill in the picture has a radius of about 72-73 Last edited by Jenn_GGG#0000 on Sep 6, 2023, 5:12:07 AM

" That is a fair question. However, it was the same before too, only that the unit was called "range" iirc. That didn't tell us much either, and it was great to see the actual range when looking at the build in PoB, for example for Boneshatter. |

And that's what I'm trying to say here.
It is as bad as it was before. (if meters/units/radius doesn't matter) But if they do the work to rename it, why not go the extra mile now and define what a meter is? btw. auspexa, thx for trying to explain what a meter ingame is - I know that. So you agree with me indirectly if you now post pictures from the wiki and/or PoB. |

" I don't fully agree, because if the game tried to explain everything to the players, it would be a shitshow of formulas and numbers Like, GGG knows that the ingame tooltip for physical damage reduction is completely inaccurate, so why don't they fix it? Because it's much easier than explaining the armour formula to an average player |

"We can consider situations other than extremes though. "Max detail everywhere for everyone all the time" is not the only possible option. |
|
"The purpose of this units -> metres swap is to give players an idea of in-game range. Any sane reason why measurement units named metres that now replace old (meaningless) measurement units would not be referenced by real metres? The same goes for character height. Many players guess similar numbers because they know their height, see other humans (and probably know their height too) and can estimate. The assumption that we're playing in the world of dwarves or giants because the game is deliberately trying to confuse us is beyond me. |

the wiki has a picture of distance
that being said it would not kill them to add an option to display in the screen the area of a skill. self found league fan http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/324242/page/1 Last edited by caboom#7201 on Sep 6, 2023, 7:10:48 AM
