Please, need ability to switch between Controller and Keyboard/Mouse

Another upvote on this post. I am coming back to PoE like many other and can't use m&k for gameplay due to right arm repetitive motion injury, but I find using controller for inventory management nearly unbearable. I would greatly appreciate inclusion of an actual auto swap, if not in PoE, then DEFINITELY for PoE 2.

Upvoting this because my wrists hurt, and I'd like to be able to map and loot using controller, then use mouse and keyboard in my hideout.
Yes, please.
WHY THIS ISNT IN THE GAME ALREADY I SEE 3 YEAR OLD POSTS ABOU THIS
CAN SOMEONE MAKE A FIX FOR THIS
Dear GGG, PLEASE make it happen, at least in PoE2.

I can't play on M+K, and playing with controller feels great.

But the inventory management is a billion times easier on mouse+keyboard.

Basically, all modern ARPG do this right and allow to switch between interfaces automatically.
When Balormage mentioned in his 'only 3 cons of poe 2' video that there is no hotswap between controller and KB/M, I frankly thought he is mistaken. I have a hard time believing a game releasing in 2024/25 doesn't support hotswap that practically every other game does and that GGG would for some reason follow the wierd way it's implemented in only PoE 1 afaik.

During the current Steam sale for example I bought a ton of games from AAA games to indie games and ALL of them support hotswap between controller and KB/M. Elden Ring, Space Marine 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ratchet & Clank, Diablo 4, Last Epoch, Dungeons of Hinterberg, Nobody Wants to Die to just name a few - all support easy hotswap. Some of these games are small indie games published as the first game by their publisher!

I hope GGG switches over to the hotswap way of supporting a controller sooner rather than later instead of following the PoE 1 method for any more time. In fact, backport this feature to PoE 1 also asap, it's not a good look when comparing to newer arpgs like Last Epoch for example.
came here to post this same feedback after trying a gamepad today and seeing just how heinous the UI and then just how impossibly bad the game is to play without a mouse for inventory.

They should just allow us to bind movement/aiming and skills onto controller buttons and analog sticks from the normal user interface.

This is not a philosophical or technical point, I imagine that they think a Gamepad specific UI is somehow required but its not the case in any way. The UI is really bad, and using a bad UI to insist on not allowing normal KB+mouse users to bind a game controllers buttons to whatever actions they want is just short sighted.

I've played countless games that allow a controller's buttons to be mapped while a mouse and KB are still functional. I think Diablo 2 is even one of them (D2R has this IIRC). I'd be surprised if I can't find an app that allows my controller to be seen by POE as a KB. But I'd really like to see this built in.

a few years ago I wouldn't have cared but my right wrist can't take ARPG style movement any more without RSI flare ups. Really hope POE2 has tons of accessibility features. getting old sucks.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.

I really hope they implement on-the-fly switching like in Diablo 4. I want to use 90% controller, but 10% keyboard/mouse for UI management. Cause of RSI I can't play with keyboard/mouse :(
Are we going to get any response to this? Its been over a year since this thread has been started nothing.
I came into the feedback forum thinking to suggest this for POE2

I have the exact same problem as the thread starter and I am old AF.

Everything else, including difficulty, I can manage.

I really hope this QOL can be implemented.

Allow us the option to have the controller UI while at the same time allowing Mousr+Keyboard controls so inventory management is easier.

As of right now I am

(1) Put all stuff in one stash.
(2) Fight. Grab stuff. Wait for page full.
(3) Log out, mouse keyboard login. Manage inventory.

It's tedious.

edit: wow I didn't even realise this is a 1 year old post. Probably will take a long time before it can be implemented in POE2 sadly.
