no, you don't get banned for using awakened. and you never were. its described quite clearly in the ToS what kind of action are illegal and which are not. The standard functions of awakened are just macros that either trigger one action which you must actively start with one action yourself or scan the API on pathofexile.com/trade which is outside the scope of the client anyway.
The overlay is just a nifty way to talk with the API, you could just use our browser too, there is actually no difference from POEs view.

So please stop pushing your wrong FUD to players who don't know better.

As others have said; you will not get banned for USING Awakened PoE, but you can get banned for ABUSING it, as it does offer some mechanics that can send a large amount of requests to the server. But regular use? You're safe.

It has happened in the past but not sure if that's possible now, if you make too many requests in a short space of time you just get rate limited.

Nah its expressly spelled out in 7c and unlike what tsunamikun is saying its not just 'the client' that is in scope of the ToS, they include 'the website, the materials, and the services' with the website being the website, of course. The materials being the game and the services being the API among other things.

Some of you really thought awakened can you get banned I am fascinated that people believe that.

probably a blanket statement not to use 3rd party tools
on the assumption many among the community will
download a hacked version of a legitimate honest tool
which does not breach TOS but the hacked version does.

I figure there are fake versions of tools out there
that ddos ggg players etc. make sure you get it at the
official website, or have an official md5 sum.

if awakened is legit. and you get a hacked version.
ggg washes their hands of all of it. everything.

theres only one tool they have endorsed that I know about.
that community made pack checker. ggg not only audited the
code and confirmed it is exactly what its maker said it was.
they adopted it into the client.

Almost 2024.. they make fun of other companies and themselves but can't have enough "courage" to make some sort of official statement what is and what isnt allowed with 3rd party tools..

so you wont get banned for using it but if you mess with the settings and "abuse" it then you get banned for using it? yeah thats not confusing at all. so we cant change any settings?

Ofcourse you can get banned for this, and you should!
Think about definition of game cheating "gaining advantage over other player by means not intended by the game examples: hiding playing cards in your sleeve, using third party software that provides advantage"
If you would not gain advantage by using third party software, why would you?

For third party software that deletes your account on death you could even make argument that it does not provide advantage. But for app that partially automates

>Highlight dangerous map mods
>Price-check multiple categories of items
>Support for custom cheat-sheet (Betrayal etc)
You can not make that argument, it is obviously providing advantage with these and many more features otherwise no one would use it.

Arguments for using this are same arguments you'd use for maphacks, autologouts, aimbots
