In the context of PoE2, please reconsider the need for Accuracy and Evasion.
I've gone through all the demo gameplay with a fine comb and it's true: I can't easily find a situation where an attack missed, though it might be due to the characters being appropriately built for this.
That said, the defenses screen did contain evasion, so I wonder if it's just a case of outdated/placeholder or whether I'm just imagining things. Last edited by Falcord#4858 on Aug 2, 2023, 2:41:43 AM

" The classses we saw were Sorceress, Monk, Huntress and Warrior. Sorceress doesn't use attacks, Monk is DEX/INT, Hunteress is DEX, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Warrior had Resolute Technique (or equivalent). So it could easily be that they were all set up to either have high accuracy or not need it at all. |

" Well, we know that warrior didn't have Resolute Technique because Sunder had a new modifier where it auto-crit when hitting a target with broken armour, and we know this worked. It's possible they did artificially increase the warrior's accuracy so the demo feels good, but then this begs the question: if they feel the need to make all characters have 100% hit chance and 0% evade chance for the game to feel good, what's the value in keeping those stats? |

I think the existence of accuracy in this game is not about other similar games but the dice system of d&d. Back in the beta days I remember some of the old GGG members introduced themselves as some board game nerds and MtG fans. So they knew existing systems but they didn't know what they were aiming for at the beginning of the development.
That is probably why accuracy exist and it failed because the free to play community ruins everything and always asks for something fast to consume, flashy and full of achievements. They don't want to waste any time on calculating some dice rolls and accuracy or any other thing, they're too lazy. They just want to hit and destroy everything as fast as possible, share their video and tell others about their niche achievement like 'me hittz 666666k oMg'. As you said, accuracy has no place in this game anymore. It's just part of an old unfulfilled dream. Neden yaşıyorsun?

" I don't really follow your point. Accuracy didn't "fail", and certainly it didn't fail because "the free to play community" wanting flashiness and simplicity. I don't see complaints about evasion and accuracy at all. Also, none of these are the points I am making. As I mentioned before, I'm completely OK with block as a mechanic, which is nearly indistinguishable from evasion in terms of survivability for you and monsters, but it avoids the big issue of misleading players into thinking hitboxes didn't collide. |

" Again, I repeat the same thing in a different fashion; If you create a new system by manipulating a system that someone else made, and if you constantly change small details while doing this, the mentioned details will lose their importance and the system will collapse over time. Because you take a few working bodies and turn them into a Frankenstein doomed to die in a short time. For this reason, instead of talking about how to solve small details one by one, it may be better to return the system to its working and known truth and leave it that way until you have a much better idea. My understanding is that GGG does exactly that with PoE2. Of course, there will be a lot of people who want to continue the collapsed system. It's in our evolution. When this planet is destroyed, if we want to move to another planet, a very few and elite people will go, a very large majority want to continue to stay in the old and corrupted one as a virtue. Because we are human, we think we can solve the real problem by talking about concepts like hit and block. Neden yaşıyorsun? Last edited by Jideament#2792 on Aug 6, 2023, 5:46:09 AM
