Help me choose a Curved Ultrawide monitor for POE
Hi guys,
Always wanted to buy an curved ultra wide monitor and POE is 90% of my gaming time. What would you recommend, i have seen some thread about this topic and it seems poe support up to 21:9 is that right? I do not want some super super big either because i will have my other two monitors on top or on the side. Feel free if you have any suggestions. Have a good one exiles ! POE does not support ultrawide resolutions AFAIK. You get black bars on the sides.

Even 21:9?

21:9 Works fine in PoE 'super ultrawide' so 32:9 doesn't work anymore for I think 1 or 2 leagues now.
I got a LG-34GK950 a few years ago and I'm very happy with it thus far. I would recommend sticking to the usual resolutions and not going lower so for a regular 34" 21:9 screen go for 3440x1440 and not those cheaper 2560x1440 screens. Other than that I can't help you much because it's been a few years since I researched that topic and I haven't kept a close eye on it. |

" Poe is actually one of the games that supports it ;) Last edited by FX0rec#2970 on Jun 17, 2023, 2:30:46 PM

more important part is to make sure to buy one with a good refresh rate so you actually get to enjoy your games in the resolution in the fullest.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Good refresh rate and response time and you can't really go wrong. Budget monitors are getting better every day. You just have to find out what panel and price range you want. IPS? VN? VA?
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Thanks for the reply guys!

I would go with either LG or Acer. Sometimes they have the exact same panel just different monitor stand and accessories.
144hz, 3440x1440p minimum IPS/"nano IPS*: really good colours but suffers from IPS glow, blacks are never truly black as the monitor gives off light. Oled: also good colours but has the benefit of being lit by smaller diodes that can be turned off. This makes it possible to show you true darkness but its much more expensive. As for the curve make sure its either flat or slight curve. Some monitors have a pretty drastic curve that is more unpleasent and distracting than good. Also with todays pcs you dont really need things like Gsync but when you have it its a nice bonus. If the price difference with/without is minimal I would still go for it but I wouldnt spend alot extra for Gsync. As for TN/VA etc I would not take those. |

Also another thing to note. If you ever want to have a triple monitor setup in the future just be aware that nvidia doesnt support mixing different monitors. I have one ultrawide in the middle with 2 16/9 monitors on the sides. Amazing setup for pretty much everything but I cant make games and programs span across all three as they arent the exact same panel type.
So if you want triple and already have an ultrawide youd have to find the same one times 2. There are workarounds to make it work but at the risk of bricking your monitors and with compatibility issues so would not recommend. I dont have an AMD gpu but from what Ive read this shouldnt be an issue on AMD. |
