Why is r/pathofexile set to private?

"The moderators of r/pathofexile have set this community as private. Only approved members can view and take part in it's discussions."

Could swear I was using it just a few days ago. It was a great source of information, why would mods decide to limit the audience?

How does one go about getting approved?

Over 3000 subreddits have done the same in boycotting the CEO. A lot of them for an indefinite period of time.

Oh, the API thing. Was totally out of the loop on that one.

Sems counterproductive to punish users of the forum, hopefully they will decide to go back online after the 48 hour blackout.

It's offline entirely for an indefinite time after Reddit made changes that would wreck the site experience for many, many people, and would make the POE sub considerably harder to moderate.

The subreddit mods are setting up a contingency plan on another platform in case they end up entirely abandoning the subreddit.

Is POE reddit not ran by GGG staff?

So they chose to shut it down? I guess thats fine if its their decision because they will lose a lot of money for the company by doing so. No idea how big of an impact this shutdown will be against a reversal of changes.
Ive hated every single Youtube update over the years.. but imagine if someone all the time closed down Youtube pages you visit just so it wouldnt get upgraded. We would still have 2005 UI.

I dont see people winning this one, Reddit needs money too.

Private is something you say when Capitalism doesn't want you to know too much.
