Nerfing and Buffing LvL 28 arena, suggestions.

Ok heres some basic things I have come to know from over a few dozen hours of low level player vs player.


-Increase Projectile speed somewhere around 25% atleast for bows.

-Lower resistances since overcapping is too easy and curses can't counter viably

-Create more uniques that are viable like searing staff, facebreakers, ungils gauche, quill rain, brightbeak, shiversting(not so viable). Create them with pvp in mind since pve doesnt really require so much diversity because the enemy wont complain about cookie cutters since its a NPC.

-Lower Duration of traps set maybe decrease the cooldown to compensate.

-this may not be needed but increasing mana pool for everyone would make fights more fun. or maybe mana regen increase wouldn't be as game breaking.

- Reduce the lvl req for a few gems like reduced mana and mana leach just to help create some build diversity.


anything u guys can think of?

I would like to say I really like the pvp and I spend hours doing it everyday. I think these adjustments are reasonable. I am not complaining because I am losing in the arena, I just want to see some more builds within this lvl range. I really like that GGG made multistrike, added power charges support, and cyclone within its level range. These gems alone have really spiced the LLD up quite a bit.

Wakes might be too powerful. We'll see how it plays out but I think it would be unfortunate if a 4-5exalt item becomes 'required' in 28 pvp. The difference between someone using wakes and someone not using wakes is just night and day.

wakes are pretty powerful, I have seen some elemental damage dual wield ungil gauche builds that are better than facebreakers when gear hits near the ceiling. I dont mind it tho, I just wish there was some boots gear towards spellcasters that werent summoners lol.

Well,

more item mods would help, stuff that is useful in PvP like life leech, mana leech, X% chance to cast something on stun/block/freeze/death ( those seem suited for uniques )

i also see mana regen as an issue, maybe early level clarity should not reserve horrid amounts of mana :(

i would prefer buffing only, don't think there is anything that needs to be nerfed

ya I try to stay away from suggesting nerfs too, thats why I didnt mention temp chains lol. But dzordo how do u feel about the resistances currently? You play a elemental damage build so u know better than I do, should they stay the same or be adjusted?

I feel like I am too strong against magic currently. Your RF build is the only build with good damage that I have seen atm. I have seen some freeze pulsers that were near worthless. One of the best ele damage I have seen was a dual curse mara that switched between perma chill glacial hammer and heavystrike/leapslam.

Believe me I am not happy about you overcapping you fire resist like mad :) but there's nothing to be done about it, atleast in 3v3 a strong ele build may force all the opponents to switch out equipment for resist, so they lose on other stats like life and dps. I think pure spellcasters stand no chance in LLD. Maybe as support in 3v3 as a double/triple curse.

ya. Its definitely not fair to switch gear and overcap res. But you are too strong! ; ). I think you are absolutely right about your build in 3v3s. Even in 2v2s my cheese move vs you and another well complimented char would probably ruin me.

Would be awesome to see some of the skill gems level requirements lowered for the purpose of low level pvp. Reduced mana, mana leech, and even spell totem could really boost the diversity and builds for low level pvp.

ya I keep thinking about spell totem. I would also like it to be reduced to like 24 or so. Right now the only viable totem is really rejuv.

I really like the addition of timeworn claws and stormcloud bow. some others like Asenath's Gentle Touch and the new rings are cool as well. I really hope they continue with new item releases and seems like they are releasing some with pvp in mind as well. Making these new items is a nice way to help inspire new builds while at the same time not nerfing old builds, this style of balance is my favorite. Nerfing items people have spent alot of time collecting and then creating new more powerful items is a bad way to balance and seems like alot of other mmos take this approach, thats what killed D3 for me : (.
