Race Season Two Announced!

The scheduling seems a bit rough on the East Coast. Basically, you get home and the 5pm race has already started so there's no point in doing it. The next race begins at 11pm and then another at 3am. So for the people on the East Coast who work 9-5, you have to get home and go to sleep only to wake up at 11pm to do the only 2 races you can do (11pm and 3am).

I'm sure quite a few people would really love to race but simply won't be able to because of scheduling. I know it's hard to accommodate everyone but the East Coast time zone has a rather large population in it. I don't know why there aren't any more races between 5pm and 11pm.

Regarding requests for overlapping or same time races for aprty and solo events, when trialled in the between season races, participation and competition in these races didn't seem especially high.

I wouldn't use the in between season as any indication of disinterest in overlapping races. I'd assume a good deal of racers are not participating because there are no reward points given. After all, wasn't the "disclaimer" for these races to have "fun"?

"These interim events are intended for fun and for testing between seasons. When we announce the details of Season Two, awesome prize rewards will return. Season two starts on April 20 (NZT). "

I wouldn't be surprised if most racers did not want fun and just wanted to win and get points (also get some practice and try things out). I know that's what I would want. A break from Season One heading into Season Two is what most people needed.

I'd suggest trying overlapping races out during the season, just a little bit. To see the actual interest during an actual season. It's the only way to really get a good idea of what racers' interest are.

How does earning points work? What do I have to do?

Unless your insanely good, you just have to meet some pretty easy tiers for a race.

I.E. a 1 hour race awards 1 point for level 8+, 3 for level 11+.
Even a beginner with some practice and knowledge can achieve these.

Each race awards points, so getting 15 or 30 points is really easy if you play 15-30 races. There will be many more than 30 races, and with the shorter races at more time zones, it'll be real easy to get some awards.

I dont race very often, and in a 1-hour I can easily get 13 with a 2-year old jumping on me and a wife constantly nagging me to do this or that.

Keep the wife happy and get points.......

I was very excited and was aiming for 200 pts this season. Then I saw the schedule and for me (north america eastern time), the evening races are at 5pm (leaving work) and 11pm (about to go to bed). So its even worst than last season, where there were 10pm races that I could still participate in if they were short.

I know this is hard for GGG because we're not on the same side of the planet, but for north america eastern coast, you've got to have a race start time slot in the reasonable part of the evening, somewhere between 6pm and 9pm, otherwise you lose a huge part of the audience! These times correspond to 10am-1pm NZ, so it should work good...

I'm disappointed that there are no 1 week or 1 month solo races in the first 2 weeks. I really hope you intend on adding at least one of these in this season.

There is a 1 week race starting on Saturday(Friday? depending on where you live) as the 2nd event in the season.

It isnt Solo though.
Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.

I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_-

It's still not solo though, which was what he was asking for. I'm wanting one of them as well but I'm still hopeful they will get added later.

I'll highlight the part you should re-read. =P

I don't care for party races, as it is highly biased towards those with friends/fans that will support them. However I feel that a long-duration solo race with trading disabled would actually create the most balanced playing field possible. (RNG would skew this, of course)

I do like the idea of a really lengthy solo (week/month) as it would somewhat require a lot of skill (trading disabled!) and great knowledge of the game to get really far (ie endgame maps). I wouldn't do it myself though but I'd love to see people do it.

It's one of those events that caters to very few people I believe. It's likely the reason they are making the lengthy races party races.
