Expedition is too mandatory

It's so outstanding that I feel that I simply cannot league-start without specing into it. It's literally a currency printer with Tujen and crafting base printer with Gwennen and Rog. You don't even have to do high tier content, you just need to level up to 90 and they will routinely offer you 84-86 bases - even if your highest map ever done is still a yellow one.

And all this is boring af. It's basically being a hideout trade bot. You don't play a game, you are rolling vendor inventory for hours. 200 tujen coins, 400, 600, 1000. This is a terrible gameplay experience as it's not gameplay at all. And it's one of the most effective methods to obtain currency.

Redesign would be nice here. Here's how i'd approach this:

-Completely axe vendor system. POE should not be about spending hours at a vendor.
-Leave only Expedition Logbooks in the game. The logbook type will determine reward bias in them:

Gwennen - drops a lot of unique items
Rog - drops well-rolled rare items (rares with high tier affixes and without garbage like +7 to life on ilvl 84 armor)
Tujen - drops raw base currency
Danning - drops league currencies such as oils, essences, delirium orbs etc

expedition is one of the only things left that is rewarding and you complain? dont worry i'm sure it will get a "rework" soon and then it will feel like breach feels now
Is Breach really that bad? If i get splinters from Tujen they sell almost instantly for the normal market price according to trade site. Can't image that it is not good money with a Sextant mod and some juice. maybe just boring to sell splinters for chaos all the time dunno, no dopamine maybe that is the problem?^^

the problem is that splinters dont drop. i get like 2-3 per breach maybe even less. they sell fast because other people dont get them either so they need to buy. breach was nerfed to hell
Well, yuk, ok that sounds pretty bad then.
Another argument for expedition i guess...

This is a good illustration of one of my issues with the game as it currently is.

Back before such things as Heist, Harvest, Expedition and so on, you found currency and loot by - shock, gasp - actually playing the base game. Nowadays everything is pushed into either the league mechanic or fractured into various "optional" content.

Then end result is, the core game is just a barren wasteland for a lot of players and fundamentally unrewarding.

The player used to be an army of one, now it's merely a soldier focussed on a specific task while other ants do their specific task.

Yes, you can generate specific wealth and then trade for everything else, but trade is so awful in the game I'd rather play SSF. In fact, the game is so awful right now, I'd rather not play the game at all.

No, I don't expect GGG to pay any attention or change the game, they've laid the tracks and have a particular direction for the game. Doesn't mean that I don't feel obliged to point out that the Emperor has no clothes though.
If you consider mapping the base game you have shrines(edit: i mean eldritch altairs^^) to make simple alch and go worth your while. You can further ignore all other league mechanics and juice your maps with shrines and strongboxes, put some torments on the rares in the map or whatever, get better chances to drop conquerer/guardian maps. It is not like you don't generate currency that way^^

Well I love Expedition. My builds are cripplingly slow as a summoner, always has been. If I can't make good currency blitzing through maps like most non-summoner players can, then the best option people like me have is to engage with leagues which offer better rewards for time spent. Expedition, especially Tujen, is one of the best examples of a very time efficient league for players who are slow.

And I think it should stay. Why? Because there's a lot more other leagues for faster players out there which are money printers. Harbinger, Delirium, Legion, all of these incentivize completing maps and killing hordes of monsters as quickly as possible. You take away Expedition or even nerf it, you give slow players one less thing they can utilize for some level of currency making and thus further forcing them to follow the same meta of ridiculous clear speed.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.
Eh, I remember the days like when breach was just introduced as a league and when it was useful from the beginning of the game. U got decent rares for leveling, chaos orbs were dropping pretty OK and loot in general and then... GGG decided it was too rewarding and nerfed it.

I don't recall how many times since then breach got a nerf hammer but I'm not even sure it is worth doing anymore.

Similar thing happened to incursions. Somehow in the early day of incursions the loot seemed so much better and now it's a hollow of it's former self and probably what's most valuable that is left there is double corruption. Not to mention that the monsters are much tougher due to ggg "reworks" and balance changes.

Something similar is going on with delve too, it doesn't seem to be giving as much rewards as it was giving in the early days. Like when u reach those currency chests for example.
I remember there usually even on lower depths were 2-3 maybe now if u get 2 u can celebrate. Not to mention that the currencies dropping feel much lower now on average.

I'm so tired of GGG or Wilson or whoever nerfing and bombarding everything that was fun or felt somewhat rewarding. And this league has dropped the ball completely and doesn't even give items when completing crucible encounters. Geodes as far as I understood are extremely rare, so no loot.

The last thing that is left OK'ish is probably expedition, at least that's what I also gather from players opinions. Yet I have a feeling that soon there will be a "rework" and we all know how it will end.

its content that i can happily guide newer players into but also content that i can enjoy both casually and seriously, i want to see it expanded in the future with deeper investments and more lore not reduced to a mundane mechanic.

If you wanted to target anything ritual might be a good one, its basically a shop with no immersion.
