Monstrous Metamorphs challenge requirements unclear/potentially bugged

The challenge requires you to kill Metamorphs with "5 monster modifiers".

Adding modifiers from killed monsters that aren't repeating, as well as any boss modifiers (line under reward type), does not always progress the challenge.

This might be because not all modifiers are considered "Monster modifiers" (despite the game at large considering everything in a map a "monster" and thus applying "monster map modifiers" to them (bosses including), or it might be because it's bugged in some way.

Regardless - the challenge should be clearer, should accept boss organs (unique ones) and should not intrinsically go against the way you're supposed to play Metamorph.

If it's a bug I kindly request it be fixed, if it's not bugged, then I hope it's clarified in some capacity.

Thank you.

Monster modifiers are the lines under the reward that says things like "Extra Life", "Extra Physical Damage Aura", "Hasted" etc.
You have to put 5 different types of these modifiers in and kill the metamorph.
Just found out, that the boss organ doesn't count as a monster modifier. Sometimes you might not be able to do this, because you only have one monster with an organ which hasn't a modifier (just a white monster). So far it worked for me and counts towards the challenge. It even works with the additional metamorph which you can skill in your atlas passive tree.

Thanks for this explanation. I kept wondering why I only have 1 of 10 here after doing heaps upon heaps of metamorphs. But there is usually a unique part, so that must be why it doesn't count. Cause otherwise I have tried to select different types of attacks and bonuses (like showed in the picture above).

Sorry for the bump, I just found this, but it's also an excellent explanation, so maybe it will help others too.
This challenge is next to impossible. I don't what changes GGG made, but I have been doing maps for over 3 weeks now with 2 & 3 bosses with gilded metamorph scarabs & the replicated results atlas node and 99.9% of the time 1 of the 5 body parts doesn't have a rare option??

You don't need a rare option from what I recall. The magic ones will have a monster modifier too. The big thing is that the unique monster parts DO NOT. So if you want to progress that 0/10 counter, you CANNOT use unique monster parts.

Weird as hell, but that's how it is.

Also make sure that you don't double up on the same effect, like "fire exposure" or whatever. When I finally found out how this worked, thanks to this thread, it usually went fine. A few times there weren't 5 different monster mods on offer, so I reverted to use the unique one to get something out of it. But most of the time it was possible to get 5 different monster effects by using rare and magic parts.

To get the "5 unique samples in a monster level 83 area", you must use 5 unique samples in Tane's Lab. That turns the area into level 83. Obviously you can only get these unique samples by using them in the metamorph thing in maps, which doesn't work for the 0/10 counter, but you probably have many of these anyway by now. They must all be different parts tho, in terms of eye, brain, liver etc.

Hope this made some sense. It's a bit confusing, no doubt about it :-|
