Any Chance we get the Community to use pobb.in instead of pastebin?

Heya peeps,

since pob allowed to import via external sites the community has adapted to pastebin. But for quite some time there is a paste-site that is exclusively for PoE's PoB and it makes it a perfect way to share.

Why?
Let'seeee goooo
For this example I took the pastebin of https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3229979

Example pobb.in ( https://pobb.in/lXgIQuXw9brX )

example pastebin ( https://pastebin.com/Pzxq45pJ )

As you can see, when you click the link you instantly see all important informations. If the PoB is configured accordingly you already have a perfect overview of what to expect and if you even want to load this up, because you see a double corrupted mageblood and 2 mirror items.

And to import you can just use the very same link for PoB, no extra steps needed.

That's all? Nope! pobb.in has also proper OG Tags.
But Akuma, what the F Word is an OG Tag you ask? Easy! Those are used to create previews on Discord, Twitter and other Sites with previews and will look like this:

(ignore that ugly me in there, thx)

As you can see, no matter if YOU care on your build you are writing if it is pastebin or anything else, but your Fans of your build WILL enjoy it and will be thankful for getting all important infos even without starting pob.

I could already convince some people to use this over pastebin and everyone I showed this didn't know it exists.

Maybe I can get some more people to use this. I highly prefer this over Pastebin.

edit: And yes, PoB has pobb.in in its share system:

This is such a non-issue, it doesn't even deserve it's own thread.

3rd party tools are what make this game thrive. Of course it's an issue. If it's unimportant to you, maybe just stay off the thread and keep your basic opinions to yourselves?

My answer to OP tho: I don't see any reason to outright not adopt pobb.in if it's a seamless drop-in substitute.

One thing that comes to mind is that in the long run, dependability might be questionable. It's more likely pastebin is going to exist and remain supported for the life of this game, than a nice site which only focuses on poe builds. I never thought .xyz would be gone and yet here we are. :`-( So, at that point we could just harmlessly go back to pastebin, as long as, in the meantime, we do not become dependent on specialized features of pobb. Because then we would be faced w/ regression.

Other than that, the sheer inertia of getting people to change at this point is the main thing preventing it. Which, I suppose making a forum post such as you did is a good first step in the direction you want to see things go. :)

Personally I tend to read forum posts etc. before even importing a PoB. I tend to look for builds in a more targeted manner, from the outset, rather than just flipping through pob links and picking what looks good from such a summary. So, for me, a pre-summarized description of the build would not be that helpful.
Not something that should or needs to happen.
I would rather have links for POE planner and/or the passive tree here.

pobb.in has a backlink to the POE Treeplanner. I bet if someone asks the maker, it wouldn't take long that it also lists the poeplanner link too.

Hello,

Could I ask that how to take the note under my pobb.in build page?
I will say that shared links showing up organized in pobb.in is pretty nice~

I also do wish that a lot of the config in PoB has been setup, but I don't think it's too much of a hassle to warrant a complete change

On that note, I sincerely think that everything ends up in PoB in the end, just cuz of the fact it covers alot of ground, so pastebin, or pobb;in links wouldn't really matter much
