They are deisgned to look stupid cause they are for free. Or they are free cause they came out looking stupid and were rejected as cash shop entry.
Anyway can't have free mtx compete in terms of desirability with cash shop items. Mods confirmed it to be true by deleting my pretty much same comment for being "needlessly negative" which translates into "we will censor whatever we don't like".
