GGG host with IPv6 servers
Edit3: The problem has been solved again, Oi Fibra ISP redid the configuration, from what I was told it is now a permanent configuration.
Edit2: The problem is back... Some second internal technician at Oi Fibra ISP undid the configuration that the primary technician had made to overcome this problem. Now the primary technician is trying to convince someone internal to make this configuration permanent to have this resolved. "" Edit:UPDATE: Solved I posted this problem on reddit/InternetBrasil https://www.reddit.com/r/InternetBrasil/comments/19ckrwo/cgnat_da_oi_fibra_%C3%A9_problem%C3%A1tico_e_ignorado/ Ayub (Senior Peering Engineer) read and analyzed it. Behold, a contact of his from Oi Fibra ISP who follows him on social media solved the problem. (The funny thing is that the problem was solved because the guy follows reddit and Auyb, not because of my internal calls for 6 months talking to Oi Fibra ISP about the problem, that's the craziest thing) So we at Oi Fibra ISP will no longer have our connection going outside the country when connecting to instances that start with 163. in São Paulo. Thanks to the spotlight that Ayub put on this post, the problem was solved. https://twitter.com/ayubio/status/1749446835435970847 But yes, if GGG hosted in IPv6 none of this would have happened. Another thing, didn't GGG's network administrators notice that players from the top 3 internet providers in Brazil have high latency in instances that start with 163. even with the server in the country itself? Does GGG not have monitoring? GGG's network administrators can't run zabbix, smokeping, can't anyone control performance statistics? All of this that I did wouldn't need to be done, because a manufacturer of an online solution has to have the minimum decency of having performance metrics for their solution. And since latency is a big metric, not only for the web, but for games, FOR GAMES, GGG should eat latency for meals, they should know as much about latency as they know how to make this game good. Like, X percent of our players in Y country have high latency on our servers located in Y country. That's it. If this alert were triggered, GGG should contact the administrator of the datacenter where the problem was triggered (In my case IBM-Networklayer) and say: "look, there is weird latency for my players, take the list of my instances" - Do exactly what I did in this thread - with this, the datacenter/IBM would have everything in their hands to reach the ISP and say that their BGP has the wrong link, because now there are 2 large companies fighting, not a mere weakened player who wants to play with a decent ping at home, the problem would be solved. Now imagine other problems that must exist out there that players who don't have technical knowledge are going through, will never be solved. "" Hi, I sent this to GGG via email and I was assisted to say this here on the forum. I will write in red in English and in green in Portuguese. I will post this on the Brazilian forum because I live here and this is our reality. https://br.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3322744 And I will post it on the EN forum because I don't know your reality, so if your CGNAT is bad, let's ask GGG to start hosting with v6 servers

Ah, is that why I get random disconnects from the server?
Like, my latency is stable 23 ms and then suddenly after 15 to 20 minutes it spikes continuosly upwards in a linear progression and game freezes. I always thought it was some kind of routing issue with NET/Claro. Good post, I wish it had more visibility. I think GGG is very limited with their server host options here in Brazil though, so I would'nt get too hopefull. |

I recently had to switch to a local ISP and have encountered a similar issue. The CGNAT is underperforming so my ping in PoE (and other games) spikes insanely high periodically. I've spoken to my ISP very recently and they're working on fixing the issue (unlike in OP's case the problem seems to be mostly DOCSIS related).
Typically, I would only be connecting over this CGNAT, but since I mentioned to the technical support that I play games, esp. both PoE and D4, he kindly offered me an alternative IPv6 routing, which would bypass the CGNAT entirely. I've had no issues in games that host IPv6 servers since, but I'm still encountering this issue in PoE. Since CGNATs don't seem to be going anywhere any time soon I and imagine a lot of players would appreciate it if PoE could work with us to remedy this issue. CGNATs are widely used in Germany, too, and Germany is notoriously slow in updating anything technical. |

8 months and the problem still exists every day 24/7.
All instances that start with IP "163." make the connection leave my country and then come back, and then they come back with +130ms as I explained in the first message of this thread. The problem started happening between the dates 10/27/22 and 10/30/22. I know this because all instances in "Client.txt" with IPs starting with "163." were 35ms max before 10/27/22 and after 10/30/22 all were above 130ms+. Why host on V6 if few people have problem, right GGG? 📦

Wow, now from 6pm until 1am my connection fluctuates because CGNAT is bad, ironically, my ISP is the least worst in the country that I've tested.
My connection is IPv4 where I go through a CGNAT and at the same time I have an IPv6, which I am directly in the DMZ to connect to v6 servers, but GGG hosts it in IPv4... so I have to go through CGNAT. Bad cold feeling that nobody at GGG reads Feedback and Suggestions, contempt, why host with v6 if most people still playing. Priorities, right? Continue with v4 servers as was done in the 2000's, so good. 📦

Ayyy, IPv4 sooooo gooood, better than IPv6 so faaaaar...
I hope PoE 2 servers still with IPv4 address. NICE GGG sooo niiiice =D 📦 https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/rhzfyj/please_ggg_allow_master_missions_be_traded_with/ ✅ https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/paymx2/suggestion_stack_on_map_device_so_you_just_put/ Last edited by GnomoCS#1570 on Jul 5, 2023, 10:18:03 PM
