Login Rewards in PoE?
" ![]() Pretty much anything other than master mission I would be against. I hate games that make me feel bad if I don't log in to get a daily reward. |

Login Rewards don't really work for their intended purpose which is to keep the game on the player's mind and thus get them to play more. Instead they login then logout at best. Login rewards are also not sustainable long term. Eventually players have ample of whatever is offered and don't care.
If by chance Login rewards are good enough to keep long term attention ie 8 year player with with 2,500 login special reward. The green beast comes and the younger community cry. At any rate GGG already kinda does this with their sales and free boxes. No game should ever follow what Lost Ark is. I still can't believe I got baited because there's technically two different games involved. One you explore, craft, raid, learn about character back stories and the world. Then you get to the second game with 0 substance. Just a cheap mobile grinder of dailies + weeklies x characters. I even swore off Eastern MMOs after Arch Age. Ugh, I hate myself for playing that game. I just miss the golden days of pre-WoW MMOs so much... But they're gone. Login rewards in other games were only ever introduced to keep the "daily player login" metric for share holders as high as possible. There are very few games where this actually matters and where you can miss a day without losing out on the big reward at the end.
All in all it's a extremely bad system for players. |

Login rewards are awful. If a game makes me feel like I have to log on only to collect login rewards I uninstall the game instead.

" Precisely. Once there was the concept of "daily missions" with your master. Imagine you gain 1 mission for each master everyday, but if you don't do it you lose it forever, thereby forcing you to login to do that free mission or just count on random encounters (or daily mission sharing, back in the day). GGG chose to get rid of that game design by making those "daily missions" stacks like they do now |

i'm against it.
a game should attract players because they love the game and not by exploiting any illnesses like ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder and fomo (fear of missing out). why? they're short term effects those players naturally want to get rid of. them winning the battle would mean stop playing your game. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
