Worst Archnemesis mod combinations you've come across
So I've decided to do an Einhar hunt in a T15 rare corrupted map. The first monster I come across is a red game hunt, and it had these AN mods. Once I got into this thing's lightning ring, it killed me in 2 seconds. And I can't get away because that monster moves so freaking fast on top of me. I'm still working on my endgame build, so my resistances are not optimized yet.
https://imgur.com/RNitg2D I'm not going to repeat what so many people have said against the Archnemesis mods, but combinations like this that lead to quick deaths and -10% exp penalties are killing the endgame for me. 6 ess mob with 5 arch nem mods, drought bringer and magma shield were two of them.
I could not be on the same screen as it so i rerolled the map. |

Anything with Mana Siphoner on a fast monster that has defense mods like Sentinel (Block Chance).
Also Magma Barrier,Lightning Mirages = no time to stand and very rippy indoors. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

I didn't realize for a while, but you guys know Mana Siphoner has no effect at melee range right? its a donut shaped aura they've never used afaik anywhere else in the game.

Mana Siphoner has a donut shaped aura so yes, it doesn't have any effect in melee range. The problem is other bullshit that is melee-range hostile. If it's an essence monster with 6 essences you CANNOT be in melee with it, because that monster is using five screenwide AOE bullet hell attacks that will tear you apart in melee range.
They need to seriously re-think AN and make a spreadsheet of mods that are allowed to combine with other mods. You cannot have Mana Siphoner + Magma Barrier for example, the counterplay to those is basically outrun the monster or reroll map. |

" Yes Mana siphoned is a donut ring... But it still effects melee. Even with my +3 melee range I still have to actively move closer to it or get hit by that shit. Often removing my socketed warlord mark, and shit. Just to lower my skills range some. Especially when the mob just wants to run away. It still sucks for melee and range. And doesn't have the desired effect of only affecting ranged people. I actually think it hurts melee builds more then range. But GGG don't care. I already leveled 3 chars past lvl 80 this league. A minion build; a spell CWDT build, and a melee build. I hated playing AN any way I tried. So now I just log into the forums and rant from time to time. The game is shit right now. And I spend more time complaining about it then playing now. Fuck I need a new ARPG that doesn't suck balls. GGG's POE is only still being played now. Because it is the best of the worse. Lightning Strider. That's it.
Since they lowered the HP (twice) I can vaporize most before they do much but since I'm a prototype user and those stupid things hardly make sound and are semi-transparent I only need to hit the AN once and not see it and I'm instantly dead. They can throw 10 mods at me, not an issue. Don't have any issues with Heralding or Mana Siphon. I can see those clearly. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac
