PSA: Gwennen heavily nerfed in 3.19

Hello everyone,

I'm a member of the Prohibited Library discord (poe science and data collection) , created by u/poorFishwife.I work mostly on expedition-related projects. After comparing the data collected from gwennen gambles pre and post 3.19 it became clear to us that it has become much harder to obtain chase uniques from expedition.

By how much? We don't know exactly yet. The rate of uniques has been reduced by about half (comparing 15k rolls pre-3.19 and 18k rolls this league) but we also know that unique tier weight has been changed, meaning that t0 uniques (like mageblood and hh) are possibly even rarer than before relative to other uniques.

So how rare is mageblood from Gwennen? If they haven't changed the weight of tier 0 uniques, you can expect around 1 mageblood every 20k rolls (very rough estimate from over 150k rolls and u/poorFishwife 's work). If they have changed it, it could be worse than that.

We'll be working as a community to figure out the new unique rates. Feel free to join us!

TLDR : gwennen is at least 50% less rewarding

Edit : just to clarify, ggg probably hasn't nerfed gwennen specifically, but the unique drop rate reduction directly affects her rewards heavily.

50% less rewarding but we get 10x more artefacts from my experience.
Issue are the reroll coins, those do not drop a lot but i believe that those are tradeable.

Oh yes, I now have up to 50% less chance to get 0 HH or MB.

You can take belt rerolls from previous leagues and see that statistically you need to roll 20K to get one on average and when it comes to 95% chance of rolling one, you'd be looking at 60K rolls but even that isn't statistically significant.

You have to look at at least about 100+ rolled Magebloods before making any assertions that can land within the accuracy of 1000 rolls.

I'm pretty much in with ^ on this, to me this one was a statement of the obvious.

Gwynnen rates being worse... well unique rates are worse aren't they tied together? If they weren't you'd be able to get any unique you wanted off gwynnen within a chunk of rerolls not in T1.

A thread about the game being worse because uniques are too hard to get for certain builds sure, but trying to go for gwynnen was stealth nerfed when it seems pretty obvious to me is a little of barking up the wrong tree.
